The property was in the ideal location for our needs. The staff were very friendly, but clearly short staffed. The hotel bedroom was not clean, bed cover had stains and the carpet dirty. No room service on one day. The Chef was not available for two nights, no hot water one morning, lack of staff. Disapointing stay overall. This hotel needs an injection of love and money. Willnot use the hotel again.

"Only one night in this very special town."

8.0

Lacock is owned by the National Trust and is a delightful, historic town. Wandering around the streets was like a movie set. We had a delicious roast at “The George “ the other pub and we met a delightful Belgian couple. The former convent is now a magnificent residence with no evidence of the role it played before the dissolution of the Catholic religious institutions. Disappointing. Overall a memorable stay.

"Red Lion ‘Pub’"

6.0

Plenty of character and history in the building and local vacinity if that's your thing. Not sure if the breakfast was very “award winning” though - pretty average at best. A lot of background noise audible from the room itself with a local pub type atmosphere.

The Inn was just what I and my wife had hoped for. Perfect room, good food downstairs (great breakfast served by precious Eileen), location, and ambiance. Many thanks!
