"Apartment in City Center Historical Area"

8.0

If a rental apartments does not figure into your travel plans look elsewhere - this is NOT a hotel. While the initial access to the apartment complex was a little awkward for non Spanish speakers and "different" we did manage to get to the correct floor and room where you check in. The apartment is pretty much as it appears in the photos. Ours was two levels with a living, eating and kitchen space on the lower level and a bedroom, bathroom and big closet on the upper level. As other have stated, the air conditioner is in the lower level and the cool air does not reach the 2nd level very efficiently. Otherwise during our several day stay the staff kept the room clean, bedding was adequate (the bath and face towels are a bit warn but serviceable.) It is in the City Center / Business area so there is street noise and the trash pickup at 10:00pm was a little annoying. Otherwise, it was a good location near the historical area and sights and near two subway lines.

"Live like the Chileans do"

8.0

This is an apartment, not a hotel, which has its advantages and disadvantages. To start with the advantages: You live among other Chileans, so don’t feel so much as a tourist. There is a large supermarket directly beside the entrance, and the meat, fish and vegetable market halls are in walking distance. As the kitchen is well appointed, you can make your own fresh meals at low cost. There is a small balcony, and a covered swimming pool with a great view over the town. Apart from the cleaning ladies attending to your apartment (who are very friendly and clean the rooms nicely every day), you do not feel as being in the hotel. However, that has its downsides. There is not really a reception, if you need anything, you have to go to another apartment, where staff usually watches TV (calling 1000 from the department never gave us any answer). They are nice, but the help they give is often no more than to provide you with a phone number they find on the net – in our case, the incorrect one). The phone numbers in the welcome book provided are all out of date, the batteries in both remote controls were empty, there was no prop in the bath tub...in other words, one does not really feel cared for, if that is, what you look after. There is free Wifi, and a single old laptop to use in an office room. The location is very central, just a street away from the Metro Station (that implies, the street is quite noisy, too), and we think, it is good value for money.

"Right in the middle of everything!"

8.0

We loved Chileapart's location! It was fantastic - in the first evening from 4-8pm, we were able to see a museum, eat dinner, visit their "presidential house", visit the Plaza de Armas, etc. It was amazing to be able to have so much within CLOSE walking distance... the metro was even only 1 block away. The view from the rooftop in the evening was beautiful! We couldn't be more pleased with the location of the hotel. The problem was that the beds were quite uncomfortable. We noticed why, when on third day we saw the box spring one of the best was completely broken, not giving the expected support. Our internet stopped work on day as well. Overall, we would definitely come here again.

"Not all we could have hoped"

6.0

The 45 units of ChileApart are scattered among 300+ apartments in a beautiful building. We were given a standard room though we had a superior reservation. The significant difference was air conditioning. We would have been charged for the superior if we didn't point out that our room detail print out showed AC. Denise, the ChileApart management Assistant, was very helpful, in spite of the problems. She unlocked the safe and arranged for us to get a fan. The street noises were tremendous. The location was good and the room was okay. Could have been better.

"Great Location!"

8.0

We used the shuttle service from the airport since it sounded from other reviews that it would be challenging to find and we were getting in at 7 a.m. with little sleep for 24 hours. It proved to be a good decision...Marcos picked us up and gave us great suggestions on where to go and what to do. They stored our luggage until our room opened at 3. We spend little time in hotel rooms so it was perfect for our needs...clean and centrally located. First day we walked to the fish market, Plaza des Armes, St Martin's Cathedral, Museo de History, and spent time in cafe's on Mosquito St which is right by Chileapart. The next day walked to the funicular and had the most spectacular dinner of grilled seafood in Laretta neighborhood at Novita. We found the people of Santiago very warm, friendly, and helpful. Having a better grasp of Spanish would have made communication easier.

"Not recommended! but a very good location...."

4.0

There was no record of our booking when we arrived! The put it in the diary for Feb and not Jan. Thus there was no room ready for us. No apology, we waited more than an hour just to get a room with 2 single beds although we asked for double bed. The wi-fi was on for 1/2 day, reported it and said they will send someone to fix it. Nobody came to fix it. It is very hot in Jan in Santiago, no aircon, no fan. Worst is the noise in the neighbouring apartments, the street people that sleep on the pavement and make a noise all night. If you do not sleep like a rock, do not stay here. You won't sleep a wink! It is a pity because the location is really great. Will not stay there again.

"Great place close to metro"

10.0

We needed a place to stay while attending a conference and visiting friends and family. The apartment was exactly what we needed. It was clean, comfortable, it had a small supermarket a few yards away, the metro station was a block away, and we had a view of the beautiful Cerro Santa Lucia. Perhaps the only negatives were that one could hear traffic and voices even 20 floors up so that we had to sleep with earplugs, and the fact that although it was advertized as having AC, it only had a fan. The noise was typical of anywhere in downtown Santiago, but the lack of AC was unfortunate as the city in January is very hot (90F) every day, although it did cool down in the evenings. Overall, a great place to stay.

"Secure and convenient"

8.0

Walk to shops, plazas, restaurants and pedestrian shopping area with buskers, entertainment and buses. Walk to closest metro station Santa Lucia about 15 minutes., The Hotel has a security gate to check in and another reception inside to collect your keys etc. Apartment itself was very modern, clean, with great views, a full kitchen, king size bed, small sitting room. Not so good for writing or computer work, except at the high kitchen bench with bar stools. But Wifi was excellent. Also no aircon, only a small fan. On top floor was small swimming pool and terrace with views..

"Great location"

10.0

Perfect location, walking distance to museums, Presidential Palace, arts and crafts market, the Metro, restaurants, supermarket next door. Well equipped rooms - kitchen fabulous, little balcony, comfy bed, good bathroom. Chileapart staff very helpful. Would come again! Suggest a drinks machine on the terrace. Would be perfect for those hot Chilean days.
