Hotel Hacienda VIP

What we liked: 1. Excellent WIFI 2. Our room was upgraded, it was beautifully designed and well equipped 3. The hotel has a nice pool area 4. Housekeeping did an excellent job everyday 5. The air conditioning kept the room cool which was important given the temperatures were 40 degrees C everyday during our stay 6. Reception staff were friendly and extremely helpful - I needed to make an international call and they were more than happy to allow me use of their landline. This was really appreciated by us 7. Parking was in a secure area nearby 8. The location was very central What we didn't like: 1. There were only 3 sun lounges which isn't enough for the number of rooms and there were no umbrellas to provide shade in extreme heat 2. It may not represent amazing value for money especially when breakfast isn't included in the rate 3. A fridge would be useful in the room

Very nice staff and informative. Comfortable and well located in Central Merida. I recommend the Hacienda highly as the staff made me feel welcome and very much at home during my holiday in Merida.

Beautiful property, great staff and perfect location.

We loved Merida and this hotel, within walking distance of the central square with it's buzz and restaurants, is ideally placed for exploring the city. Converted from a spacious colonial house it has a wonderful feel - and our reception.on arrival was a little like being welcomed into someone's (rather beautiful) home. If I had one quibble it would be that Room 1 (where we were put on the first night) is right off the reception area and other than for two tiny roof lights it is internal. We were moved for the second night and fell in love with the place. Breakfast is the only meal served there (taken in the colonnade beside the pool) but with so many restaurants nearby that's not a problem.

We came in late. They were waiting for us. We left very early in the morning a couple hours before their breakfast service. But they had breakfast for us before we left. I would stay in this hotel again.

We stayed at Hotel Hacienda VIP for 6 nights, made as two bookings because of a change of plans. The very helpful staff were able to rearrange the rooms so we could be in the same room for the entire stay. The hotel itself has a beautiful arched foyer and pool area, where you can have breakfast. The rooms were simple, with polished concrete floors, but were lucky enough we had our own balcony on which we could have breakfast. A bar fridge would have been appreciated in the Mexican heat, but staff were happy to put our food in the hotel's refrigerator. The position was good, being walking distance to museums, restaurants and the historic center.. We ate at Mercado 60 (fun place with food from several different restaurants}, Oliva's Kitchen (great pasta and desserts) and Chaya Maya (watch ladies make tortillas in the restaurant). The hotel arranged a tour to Celestun to see the flamingos and we caught the local buses to Chitzen Itza (impressive) and Uxmal (amazing). We also Ubered to the Mayan museum, which is well worth a visit.

Well. Other than be close to the main square. Looks are misleading. The staff is wonderful, but the rooms are very dark and they need more cleaning. Due of the high ceilings. Spiderwebs are very visible. Like I mentioned, poor lighting. And the orientation of the building. Make this VIP Hotel just another 3 star one. I did stay at another property 2 blocks down the street for 1/2 the price and that one was a Boutique one. So check around..... you will find much better places and deals around.

Hotel Hacienda was fantastic. We were warmly greeted and treated to amazing service for our entire stay. If we needed anything at all, it was taken care of right away. Stunningly beautiful and spotless. We will absolutley stay here again

I did like the place. Very quiet. Great staff Room needs a better lighting won’t hurt
