Hotel Alexander

Overall the hotel is nice, close to restaurants and shops. The room is a good size for three of us, and they have water and sparkling water machines so that’s a plus. The staff is very friendly, they even unclog a drain at 1130pm. The only downside, and it’s unfortunately significant pushing down from a 5 to a 3, is we got a room on the fourth floor and the room is really warm - AC is not powerful enough to cool it, the only thing that helped is a fan, so rest is not ideal.

Great location right in the old city center. Right in the main street near all the resturants and hang out places. 10 minutes walk from the train and the main shopping street. The bed was comfortable, the shower was good. The windows were sound proof. There was no noise in the room from the busy street outside. The staff were helpful at all times.

We loved the hotel and location. This hotel is in Old Town Zürich by lots of restaurants and shopping. The staff is extremely friendly and the hotel is clean.

The hotel is surrounded by many eateries and shops. The main hbf train station is in walking distance though. However, if you have large or heavy luggages then would suggest to take a taxi, unless you don't mind taking the hassle to drag your bags on the cobbled stones. I really loved the service of Ms Katherine, I guess that's her name. She was really helpful,kind and very friendly. Their breakfast is complimentary and they have vegan bread and vegan butter too, also some fruits, cereals and vegan milk. The bathroom and rooms were really clean. Cons: I think the pillows were way too soft. Should change that. Also there was this kind of some odd smell through out our stay in the room, probably it be could be coming from the restaurants downstairs as our room was facing the street. Maybe they should hang a freshener in the room throughout to fight off the smell, just spraying freshener alone it wasn't enough as the smell was keep coming back. However apart from that, I would highly recommend this hotel. It's worth the stay for it's money.

Great location. Bed was comfortable. Room super dark with poor lighting. Bathroom had no place to even set toothbrush. Shower made a mess due to small size and poor curtain. Broken elevator. Very nice reception. Midrange breakfast - wouldn’t pay for it again.

Very impressed with this hotel. We booked a twin room and arrived around midnight to a friendly and efficient welcome. The room was a good size and the complementary first stocking of the mini-bar was a pleasant surprise. There's also a hot drinks machine in reception that's available for use. Lots of towels, comfortable bed and a good shower, though I cut my leg on the sharp corners of the beds - so beware of those! Breakfast was complementary and offered a good, well-stocked selection of all the usual items. Overall, much better than a standard 3* hotel and I'd return again.

The hotel is located close to the city train station and in a good spot to roam around the city. The hotel receptionist Marc did an excellent job when we got to the hotel. Everything was explained with hospitality. He also answered all the questions we had about places in Zurich. The rooms are a decent size for the stay. Breakfast was hot and ready and in the morning.

The hotel was more affordable than the other hotels we stayed at however it matched in comfort and convenience. Very good service.

The hotel is quite basic but has everything that we needed during our short visit. The location is very ideal especially for doing a lot of day trips to other places.

Average property but not worth the price. Shower head didn’t work majority of the time, air conditioning doesn’t blow any cool air, and the beds are as hard as a rock. The only redeeming quality is the location. Will not be staying at this location again with the many other options in the same area.
