Hotel Alexander

The hotel is located in the old town section of Zurich, surrounded by restaurants and shops. If you have a car then you need to reserve a space ahead of time, for a fee, if spot is available. Otherwise, you have to locate a parking lot, for a fee.

The hotel is centrally located in a very walkable area with shopping & dining options. Central train station nearby. It is a basic hotel. It was clean & safe. Air conditioning was not working during our visit in March which is fine if you open the windows. The issue is that the noise from the bars, restaurants & cars won't let you sleep with the windows open. Breakfast was basic & satisfactory. I found it pricey for what it was, but everything is Zurich is expensive. Overall, clean, central, convient hotel.

We started our journey with a two wonderful night stay at the Hotel Alexander. A short drag of the case from Zurich Hauptbahnhof. Warmly greeted at check in after a long flight from the states, and an early check in gratefully received. Reception offers complimentary coffee, water, and small morning pastries. Our room cosy, clean, and spotlessly clean (212) and peaceful as it faces a courtyard at the back. Nice bathroom with all amenities, a bath tub and a fantastic pressure for a hot morning shower. Breakfast was delicious, a decent range of hot and cold options, good coffee. Special mention to the lovely lady who made extraordinarily fluffy scrambled eggs to accompany crisp bacon. After checking out I realised I’d left something at the hotel, emailed them and they could not have been nicer in working out a way to get this possession to me. Could not ask for more. Lovely team and a really comfortable hotel. Definitely our future stay location next time in Zurich.

Very comfortable hotel! Clean with a great location in Old Town near the train and bus station! Staff was very helpful! Nice breakfast buffet! Would definitely recommend!!

The great location -- within walking distance of Zurich's main train station -- is just one of the reasons to stay here. Staff is great, breakfast buffet is generous and rooms are super comfortable and clean. I've returned here a couple of time and it's always top notch!

Great location for walking around the city. Hotel staff was kind and attentive. We read previous reviews so were aware that the rooms would be a bit small but it was plenty comfortable for our needs. Complimentary breakfast had great options.

Nice hotel in a good location, with a friendly and helpful staff. Air conditioning in the rooms was a huge plus after many nights during a summer trip without it. Rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Zurich.
