"Underwhelming and expensive"

Location

Room was absolutely boiling. Aircon didn't work and the fan was non-effective. Lights were also out or flickering in the room. Breakfast involved filter coffee (coffee pot was broken) and hot water for tea... but my partner was told she was "doing it wrong" when the water didn't come out - only for the staff member to have to concede it needed a refill. Really not great for £204 a night.

De ligging aan de stadsmuur, in het centrum. Grote kamer met airco, veel opbergruimte. Goede, grote bedden. Ruime douche. Lekker ontbijt, veel keuzes. Grote, ruime douche met luxe zeepjes.

De bijkomende parkeerkosten zijn best hoog. Wel voldoende parkeerruimte in de buurt van het hotel.

Location is great situated just outside the city walls and visible from some of the rooms Comfy beds, great showers Tasty cookie on arrival

The floorboards are a bit creaky in room and floor above

"Great location, but everything else was terrible"

I stayed here with my tour group and the location was perfect near the town of York. Just about everything else was awful. The breakfast was disgusting, and they couldn’t keep up with the food and very little choices. I got to breakfast early, which was supposed to be the quiet and good time and the staff looked overworked and was unable to keep up with the food choices and they seemed overwhelmed and understaffed. We had dinner here a couple times with the tour group and the first dinner I couldn’t even eat and the second dinner was at best mediocre. The room had a stained dirty carpet and the air-conditioning was challenging to use, and many of my tour had no air conditioning and we were here during a heat wave. Reception was not able to be reached many of the times I tried but when I had a request and they answered the phone , they were prompt about follow through. The Wi-Fi was terrible and kept kicking me off and I had to keep reconnecting. When I got to the bathroom, there was a dirty towel hanging on the hook behind the door. I do not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel and the experience was quite poor.
