Comfortable bed and decent room

The only thing we didn't like was the 10.30 am opening for breakfast and the £5.00 charge for a tea and pastries. The whole idea of staying overnight as in prevoius years was to catch the 12 oclock ferry to the Isle of Wight and break up the travel from Grantham. In previous years of staying at the plume of feathers we have enjoyed an early cooked breakfast prior to carrying on to Portsmouth. Therefore rather disppointed to be offered 10.30 breakfast. In our oppinion the cost of £125 just for an overnight stay at this establishment is not justified. Unfortunately we will not be using the Plume of Feathers in the future for our overnight stay. Our stay in previous years has been exceptional but this year is unfortunately disappointing.

"Really Pleasant Local Pub with rooms close to Farnborough"

8.0

Great local pub with rooms close enough to Farnborough. Nice evening food menu. Car park is easy to access.

Rooms are a bit snug. Okay for an overnight or couple of days but lack of wardrobe or hangers in the room may frustrate some. No breakfast option.

"Disappointing for the money."

4.0

The bed was extremely comfortable and I had a fabulous night's sleep. The room looked fabulous, very stylish.

BUT.....The shower was poor. No hairdryer. Very dusty. No breakfast offered at all and no staff on hand in the morning (9am) to return the key to.

"Really disappointing accommodation."

1.0

The landlady was pleasant and helpful and the evening meal was excellent. The pub itself was in a lovely location and had retained its original coaching house ambience.

The airbnb was very disappointing. The boutique description was entirely inaccurate. There was no breakfast as no one lives at the pub. We were told that in the event of a fire ring 999 and wait in the car park. How does that work for health and safety? The room itself was a converted stable with a short staircase from ground level. Really small with just enough space for the bed. Two coat hangers on hooks for clothes and a shelf for hairbrush etc. No other furniture. The tv used broadband and often froze. The ensuite was small, though adequate, apart from the shaving mirror which mostly extended across the light over the basin. The only daylight was a tiny skylight in the sloping roof with no blind which meant a nightime view of the night sky or daylight at 4am. We only stayed for the first night of our booking.

"Huge disappointment. Real Fire hazard. A huge liability suit in the making."

1.0

The pub looked great. We thought we were going to be in rooms above the ground floor. Unfortunately, we were relegated to a converted stable.

No hotel manning from 11 pm to 10:30 am. daily. No A/C in the room. No portable or ceiling fan in the room. Windowless room. Excessively hot. One small vent (sized 1'x1.5') in the roof, at the same level as the adjacent restaurant exhaust fan, which cycled every 20 minutes and spewed cooking oil fumes into the room. Only one egress door. Extreme fire safety hazard. In case of fire, we were told to "go to the parking lot and call the fire service from there". We ended up sleeping in the car and checked out the following morning. Management was not on site when we visited the next day. The beverage supervisor listened to us and said she would pass on our concerns. We heard nothing; and subsequent phone messages and an email to the owners were ignored.
