Occidental Jandía Royal Level - Adults Only

30 minutes walking distance from the hôtel to the beach. Difficult to stay on the beach for long as the strong wind moves the sand everywhere .

Great breakfast and dinner. Friendly staff. Good gym and very nice evening entertainment.

So this is our third time staying here at Occidental Jandia Player. First time we stayed in all inclusive, second time we tried all inclusive plus. This time we opted for Royal Level and stayed in Suite 101 as a relaxing break before we get married in September! I can honestly say I have had the most relaxing week ever on any holiday we’ve been on. Royal level felt worlds apart from any all inclusive hotel we’ve stayed in before. Our suite was huge, 2 rooms with a massive bathroom! The whirl pool was an additional bonus! The bed and pillows were so comfortable! Our mini bar was stocked up daily, our room always cleaned beautifully nice and early, and turn down service was a nice extra touch. Food was great!! Did read that people were saying that there was very little choice, but we didn’t find this to be true. Plenty to choose from and always fresh and hot! we actually used the à la cart restaurant every night that it was open, and all I can honestly say is WOW! Every staff member we came into contact with on royal level were all so friendly! Especially bar and restaurant staff! They are a credit to the hotel. I’ll leave my review here because I’ll just go on and on about how much of a great time we had! I understand that not everyone has the same experience, and not everyone has the same level of standards, and some People will complain about the smallest of things. But for us, this stay just confirms why this is our third time returning and why it most certainly won’t be our last. See you soon Occidental Royal Level . And many thanks

Overall the hotel was great, we had access to the main hotel which we hardly used as there were to many guests at the time, we had a look at the buffet in the main hotel once which looked good but it was very noisy so I’d recommend sticking to the Royal Level buffet. We are a family of vegetarians and Daniel, Juanita & Cassandra went over and beyond to suit our vegetarian needs, they arranged for the chef to make separate food for us which was great. I wouldn’t go by any of the negative reviews on the Royal Level as that originally put us off our stay but this place is amazing, it’s better than some of the 5* hotels we have stayed at which is saying something! Guest management were also great in helping with food arrangements, I think their names were Saide & Alvaro.

Only one of the staff members at the buffet was a bit rude, I don’t know her name as she didn’t have a name badge but she wore glasses. It would be nice if they had sunbed service for drinks but not a massive issue as it’s nice to get up sometimes to go and get a drink.

The hotel is realy nice the room are amazing the staff are so welcoming especially mark in bar Verdi he was the stand out member of staff he’s just a star in my opinion the pools are looking a bit tired some of the tiles were broken and area cornered off for repairs the food was amzeing in Atlantico restaurant and there is also Alcart restaurant which you can go to 5 days a week which was amazing to. The rooms are very spacious we had a suite with sea view which was very good we did have a problem with air conditioning and water was leaking from the ceiling which they tryed to fix and. There was no water on the last day so we were unable to have a shower before we went home which was fixed later on in the day. But overall the hotel is amazing and the service and food is just out of this world. You can also use the facilities in the other hotel which was realy good. You can also access the beach it’s about a 15 min walk which does involve walking through the hotel and bear in mind that the hotel is on a hill so it’s uphill on the way back there is a shuttle bus to the beach twice a day. We are so looking forward to returning very very soon and would defently recommend this hotel especially the royal level you certainly get treated like royalty!

Our 5th visit to this hotel for a 10 day stay and it didn't disappoint. We had requested a room on the second floor and it was fabulous, clean light and airy, well stocked mini bar and daily replenishment of water. Domestic staff always smiling and helpful. Atlantic and A La Carte restaurants very good. A good variety of food and excellent service. We went to the Asian Italian and Tex Mex nights at the A La Carte. Delicious food and good service. We also used the main hotel restaurant sometimes for breakfast and evening meals. Again a good choice. Good variety of cheese and proper sausages for breakfast. The pool area was peaceful We always got a sunbed jacuzzi and pools lovely and a nice temperature. We also used the other pools in the main hotel, great for a change of scenery. The staff are a credit to this hotel. No wonder people return time and time again. The staff in the Atlantic, Bar Verde, reception were so friendly and they all work so hard. Shout out to Marianna, Sonia Elena Javier but to name a few. Entertainment was hit and miss in the main theatre however there was an amazing Whitney tribute. There was a saxophonist and one man band on different nights in the variety Verde. The hotel is on a hillside with fabulous views and a beach that stretches miles. We'll certainly be back.

The Royal Level adults-only section is clean and sufficiently exclusive. The cocktail bar is very good and the barmen really do know how to mix a cocktail from a reasonably large selection. Full marks. A reasonable choice of branded spirits and beer is included in the AI package, which makes a change. Well done Occidental for this. The Royal Level restaurant is clean, nicely laid out, staff are superb, engaging and always cheerful. Top marks! The food is, perhaps, a little repetitive (a variation in the salad would be nice) although the main dishes are not as varied as the adjoining main hotel’s buffet, but the choice is still sufficient. House wine is like most hotel house wine - just ok. Prosecco is lovely, the rosé very drinkable, red is pleasant but the white will remove your fillings. 3/4 ain’t bad. Bedrooms are big, airy, air conditioning is excellent, massive super king size bed, comfy pillows and comfy mattress (but it has a waterproof undersheet which makes you sweaty). Bathroom is spacious with a full bath tub (not big enough for two, however 😩) and two shower heads. WiFi in the room was good but out in the pool area it would not connect properly. Pools are great and the large bubble pool is heated. Well done for this! Sun beds have proper, comfortable cushions which the staff wipe down each day. The pool area faces south-east which means you get the morning sun but by 5pm the sun has gone behind the hotel and the pool area is in shade. Cabanas are ok but you can’t fully sit up, consequently most people bag a cabana and two adjacent sun beds. Greedy. Bed hogging wasn’t too bad in early May but in peak season you’d need to be out by 8am. The bar staff occasionally walk round with cocktails or iced drinks. A nice touch. But - and this is a big BUT - the piped music around the pool and in the restaurant is excruciatingly tedious! Guests should start a GoFundMe to buy another CD because it sounds like the hotel can only afford one CD, and it’s on continuous repeat, every hour, every day, every week….. If I hear DredStudio’s “Spanish Guitar Themes” ever again I will return in the afterlife to haunt the hotel management until judgement day. Many complaints but no action. For goodness sake, Barcelo and Occidental, put some effort into your playlist! It’s not difficult. To be subjected to the same 10 “jolly rhumba guitar tracks” over and over again whilst relaxing by the pool is pure water torture (which, I should remind you, is banned by the UN as a cruel and unusual punishment, but apparently not at the Occidental Jandia Royal Level). Apart from that, we’d happily come back again, this one of the nicest all inclusive Adult only resorts we’ve visited (good attention to detail, clean, great staff) … but only if the music has changed. Nearly 5 stars.
