Hampton Inn - Burlington

A great location in a nice small town in Wisconsin. People behind the counter, especially Debbie were very helpful and friendly. We needed to check in earlier than 3pm and they were able to help us out

The room ! We have stayed at this location before and remembered that the rooms were "tight". Room #106 had a full sized bed rather than a queen . The room had neither a microwave or refrigerator, let alone an alarm clock . Nor were there any towel bars by the shower/tub or vanity. The lamp and shade by the small bed was semi broken and wobbly. Lastly, the thermostat would not function as only the front desk could change the room temperature. Incredible!

The dislikes of the hotel or minor and probably just personal opinion so I’m not going to address those. Expedia however is a different story. When we got to our hotel room on July 4, they did not have our reservation for that night. Wen had originally made reservations for the nights of the fifth and sixth. About a month ago we updated our reservations to include the night at the fourth. Expedia $100 on probably just because it was a holiday so they were trying to charge us 250 some dollars for the night of the fourth. When we got there they didn’t have any reservations for us the night of 7/4/24. And it turns out as I previously stated they added $100 on for whatever reason. The clerk working in the front desk did have a room available and charged us $148 versus 250 something. I will be addressing my concerns with Expedia shortly. The stay at the hotel was fine I have no real concerns/complaints.

We stayed a couple of nights and traveled over to Lake Geneva.

Were there for a wedding, so location was great. We cared for the dog of the bride and groom, which was warmly welcomed. Used the pool/hot tub which was clean and relaxing. Breakfast was good and ample. Every single staff member was extremely friendly and accommodating.

Was a little surprised there was no refrigerator in the room. Since they all have them these days, didn't even occur to me that we might not have one. Room was a little tight with two trying to get ready for a wedding, but we managed.

Room was pretty old. Carpet was sticky and the toilet paper dispensers were coming out of the drywall. Room walls were paper thin and you could hear the room next to you talking in normal voices.

Train woke me up a couple times a night. Everything else was good, but I will not be back because of the train.
