Hotel Tugu Malang

Very disappointed. Concert started at 5am in front of the hotel with electronic music. It was totally impossible to sleep. Hotel was aware and of this situation in advance but no warning at booking. We leaved after one night A nightmare. It could be a nice hotel, if quiet…

Amazing property in the centre of old Malang city. Walking distance from the blue, rainbow and heritage kampungs. Staff was very friendly and made sure all our needs were met. The hotel has 2 in-house restaurants and we also made use of the spa (which was amazing). Definitely pinned this hotel for possible future visits. Great atmosphere as you feel you are on an island of peace in a bustling Indonesian city.

Classic hotel, a bit like staying in a museum, but with superb service.

It was like stepping back in history. Loved the antiques, photos and old world room furnishings.

As advertised, this hotel doubles as an art museum. The decorations are jaw-dropping. Our room was comfortable, with good A/C and shower. The staff was friendly and attentive. The front desk staff answered our questions and helped us arrange a Mount Bromo tour, and even greeted us by name whenever we passed. The pool area was nice and, though small, was not used much so we had no trouble finding space. We enjoyed the two restaurants and the cafe, eating most of our meals there, and they even prepared early-morning breakfast boxes for us to take on our Mount Bromo tour. We enjoyed the daily tea, which was served in another very pleasant space. The hotel seems to be centrally located, within walking distance of parks, banks, and shops. It helps that Malang itself is very pleasant, cooler and greener than other cities we visited in Indonesia.

Very interesting hotel concept with many heritage artefacts decorating the rooms. Excellent restaurant at very affordable prices. Minus point - heavy traffic around hotel

It is always a pleasure to return to the Tugu Malang and be welcomed by familiar faces. The hotel has its unique character which is a joy to experience and to return to. The daily complimentary tea is always a highlight. Thank you Tugu Malang.

This property has so much personality and Pak Bagus and his team that run it do such a great job even if the rooms are a bit dark and slightly tired and in need of a refresh. I return to it regularly and am never disappointed. Its my home in Malang. The teatime treat is always comforting. As are meals at the hotel. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Authentic hospitality and property

We love the Tugu and have stayed there many times. It is unique and beautiful. Everything we have eaten at the restaurant has been delicious. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
