"A wonderful short stay."

10.0

Friendly staff, very helpful. Food very high quality and excellent choice. Breakfast very good. Loved the farm house kitchen to help yourself to continental , yogurts, toaster, cereals etc. Lots of seating areas throughout the Inn, many with cosy real fires. The dinner menu was excellent. I think the flat iron steak cooked medium with pepper-corn sauce was the best I have ever tasted! Beds very comfortable, bathroom large and clean. Location perfect for walking out We look forward to returning in a different season to experience more.

Every space is utilised well. However, I would have liked a guest entrance and exit but understand the layout of the inn may not allow this. Also, a small, cosy guest lounge may not be possible either.

"Midweek break over the border in Derbyshire"

8.0

Atmospheric old pub selling good quality beer and food, and run by attentive staff. Good location for local walking including along the tramway into Whaley Bridge. Comfortable bed.

Bedroom slightly small and furniture jaded. The ‘open’ breakfast at the weekend seems a good idea but can lead to longer delays for food.
