Waking up in a 13th century castle!? Whats not to love about that!?!

We really felt like we were in a castle and while the rooms were authentic, they still had modern amenities. The dinner was absolutely amazing! We would have like more breakfast choices but it was still very good.

It would have been nice if we were told that the restaurant was closed that evening.

We love staying at Burg Colmberg. This was our fourth stay at the Castle and we love bringing family and friends here. The staff is always kind and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The Restaurant is delicious. We definitely recommend Burg Colmberg to everyone.

Beautiful castle with an overview of the valley with a large herd of deer in the backdrop. The dinner meal and local dark beer is delicious. The room is small but very comfortable with the European bedding. The bathroom is small but clean and convenient. Breakfast consisted of delicious breads, fruit, cheese, meats and hard boiled eggs. Coffee, tea or bubbly water with an overview of the valley.

Burg Colmberg was a highlight of our trip to Germany. The staff were super warm and welcoming even though we were the last to arrive! The castle is super cool and interesting and fun to explore! Though there seemed like there were many rooms, we felt like we had the whole castle to ourselves. We only stayed one night in a historic room but would have loved to stay one more!

Beautiful location and grounds. Basic clean room with some minor access issues gven age of property. Shower over bath could do with a shower screen.

I was not sure what to expect before arriving but this was the most enjoyable of the hotels I stayed at during my week in Germany. The rooms were modern and clean but with just enough reminders that you were in a 1,000 year old castle. The owners/family and staff were kind and attentive. Dinner was excellent in the outdoor courtyard by candle and moonlight.

Had a great time at the Castle. The staff was very friendly and all of them spoke English as well. Stayed in the honeymoon suite which was very nice. Had to hike up a few stairs to get there but our luggage was taken up for us which was great. 50 or so deer were surrounding the Castle in a fenced in enclosure. Would definitely recommend staying for at least one night. Love the staff but check in is only from 4pm-7pm, but they were still there at 8pm when we were walking through the Castle.
