Hotel Manoir Atkinson

We liked so much about this. Both owner/managers were fantastic and really made our overnight stay a big success. Breakfast, laundry service, accommodations, the front garden area, the location, helping get us a ride to the port, the view of the city, the rooftop sitting area at night and during the day...you really can't do better.

I can't think of anything. There are stairs but our luggage was carried up and down, so that was fine.

Hotel Atkinson is an exceptionally well managed establishment. Manager/owner Marcello ensures a high standard is maintained and guests are made to feel very welcome and much like old friends. Nothing seems to be too much trouble - from providing us with local currency to do a walking tour and driving us to a tour when we were too late to walk. A big thank you Marcello for a memorable stay - and delectable coffee.

Really quaint old wooden house typical of Valparaiso. Very clean throughout. Staff so helpful even lending Chilean Peso’s in case we wanted to use the funicular. Very accommodating to our early breakfast request. Would have liked to have stayed longer.

No air con which was fine for our stay but summer would be interesting.

Three reasons to give this hotel top marks. First, the location in Cerro Concepcion, an oasis of tranquility yet right in the heart of the artistic area. In my opinion, far better than many of the other neighbourhoods to stay in. Secondly, the hotel itself. Comfortable, clean and homely. A true delight to return to after a hard day of walking around the city. Thirdly, the fabulous couple Marcelo and Gloria who own the hotel. Nothing is too much trouble. They provided a wealth of information on tours and places to see. Gloria’s breakfasts were a highlight of the stay as well! Cannot recommend the place highly enough. All at a very reasonable price!

There was nothing to criticize about this property in my opinion.

Marcello and Gloria were the perfect hosts and spoke excellent English. They were helpful with tips and even lent us a Metro card. Breakfast was a highlight. We stayed in room three which, although not large, was ok for three nights. The hotel is in a terrific location and full of character. Highly recommended and good value for money.

It's a little noisy at night with the window open but this is Valparaiso ... It's a lively city with lots going on.

It was an old French hotel with original features. Our hosts were super helpful. The breakfasts were the best. The position was great.

This hotel is a wonderful place to stay. Great location near to the water, to the coolest murals, to the best restaurants. Warm and inviting environment. The best thing of all is the care and assistance of Marcel and Gloria who run the place. They simply can't do enough for you, and even texted me (traveling alone) to make sure that I got to Santiago safely on an Uber ride. It seems like they are never off, and will make your stay memorable.
