Cloud Forest Lodge

This was our favorite stay during our two week road trip to Costa Rica. The resort is a quick drive into town while still being removed enough to feel immersive and peaceful. We saw so many birds without even leaving the property and enjoyed watching the hummingbirds and friends by the breakfast porch area. The food and drinks we had at the resort’s restaurant were fantastic and even as vegetarians we had a nice variety of options to choose from. The room was spacious and clean, and we also enjoyed walking the trails around the resort. This would be our top place to stay again if/when we return!

Loved it here, luxurious retreat. The rooms were spotless with high end toiletries and linen. The restaurant has a big raised glass patio with the most wonderful views. There are hummingbird feeders which I could have watched for hours. On the evening they put on the big log fire in the restaurant, perfect for sitting around with a glass of wine. Staff were very attentive. There are trails around the hotel to keep you busy that you can walk yourselves. We saw 2 huge blue morpho butterflies and a racoon! The little town has some lovely restaurants and the taxis are cheap if you don’t fancy the walk back up the hill

We stayed here for 2-nights as part of a wider trip to experience the Cloud Forest - well this place does exactly that! You are literally in the clouds!! The bar/restaurant and terrace area is perfect for stunning views and unwinding after a busy day of activities and the food here is amazing, the breakfast burrito especially! The rooms are well decorated and spacious, although the balcony view a tad disappointing due to the location, but did not spoil our stay whatsoever! You are a little out of town here, so don't expect to walk in, but you can easily reach it in 10-mins via a taxi

We absolutely loved our stay at the Cloud Forest Lodge. It surpassed expectations in every way. Our Manakin Suite was huge and fitted our family (4 people) perfectly. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom was fabulous. Food is excellent. Service similarly great and we looked forward to eating next to the hummingbird feeders each day. Self-guided tours were varied and fun. We saw loads of wildlife (agouti, armadillo, tarantula, monkeys, toucans, etc etc) and got great photos. Highly Recommend!

Absolutely loved the restaurant! Rooms are simple but large and clean. Staff was also very helpful in booking activities!

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. The infrastructure of the rooms was, unfortunately, quite old and in need of renovation, which initially left a poor impression. However, once inside, I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious and modern the rooms were. They offered a comfortable retreat despite the exterior concerns. On a brighter note, the hotel restaurant was a standout feature. It had a modern design and provided fantastic views, making each meal an enjoyable experience. The food was delicious and truly elevates the overall stay. In conclusion, while the room infrastructure needs improvement, the spacious and modern interiors, along with the excellent restaurant, made our visit enjoyable. I would recommend this hotel for its dining experience and room comfort, but I hope to see upgrades to the overall structure in the future.

Perfect place with fabulous food and bird watching. The staff is very friendly bith at the reception and the restaurant. I love this place

Wonderful stay at the Cloud Forest Lodge. The room was a good size and the bathroom was huge. Very comfortable bed and the pillows were so wonderful. We had a great time sitting on our deck. The food in the restaurant was very good. We had a great time sitting in the bar after a long day of hiking. Loved the hummingbird feeders that brought several colorful hummingbirds up close.
