Cloud Forest Lodge

Rooms were clean and nice,but very expensive and transportation to the hotel is not easy,very inconvenient and staff was not friendly

Location up in the rain forest was beautiful. Really felt far removed from town, even though it really wasn’t that far. Staff is amazing; attentive and friendly. The view from the main lodge was so peaceful. Rooms are large albeit a little spartan but I do appreciate their eco practices. The food at the restaurant was the best we had while in Costa Rica.

We visited Cloud Forest Lodge early March and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location of the hotel is just slightly off the beaten path, giving you the true rainforest feel. The property has trails to explore, animals can be spotted throughout the grounds. We were surprised to see no tv, but that was just lack of research on our part. Staff were always friendly and helpful with any inquiries we had. Would definitely consider staying there again on our next visit to Monteverde.

Amazing place to stay. I was in Costa Rica for a month and stayed several places, this one by far was the cleanest of them all. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms spacious and stunning. Wildlife all around, the views and the food are also wonderful. I would love to come back and was sad I only got to stay 2 nights here. would recommend to anyone. 5 stars all around.

Lovely two-night stay at the lodge with dinner both nights. Clean & comfortable rooms (no view) and stellar service for all meals, breakfast and dinner. We did the takeaway breakfast one morning, which wasn’t great, but they had it ready for us a half hour earlier than they usually open, so…. All in all an amazing stay. We will definitely be back!

Simply outstanding, this boutique eco-lodge has been our favourite hotel so far on our trip. Why? Simply because there is nothing we would wish them to change, it’s pretty much perfect . A great location with fabulous views , wildlife literally outside your balcony with humming birds and other indigenous species welcoming you to spend more time at lunch to drink in the wildlife . The hotel has its own nature trails round the hotel itself where you will undoubtedly come across more wildlife. The rooms are exceptionally large , appropriately eco-friendly with beautiful linen on the beds , massive bathrooms and fabulous coffee ready to make in room . Leaving the best to last , the service and food is exceptional, I’ve no idea why you would wish to eat elsewhere as both the kitchen with its innovative menu and the passionate staff serving really make this hotel. My husband and I were blown away by the food, it is of Michelin level standard except the portions are very generous. Amazing service amazing food and and amazing location with wildlife on our doorstep! We happened to be here over Valentine’s Day and were presented with homemade chocolates as a gift from the hotel. Personal attention to detail with high quality cuisine is what makes this hotel stand out , thank you to all the staff for making this part of our trip one to treasure forever 🥰

This is a really lovely hotel that is in keeping with its beautiful surroundings in the cloud forest. As others have mentioned the drive up here is pretty steep etc but the views are so worth it. We stayed in a Prima villa which was very spacious and after the rather heavy and dated furniture in our last hotel was decorated in a light and modern way. Fab bathroom - only thing missing was a mirror for makeup etc…. The hotel has some great trails to see wildlife and explore the grounds, and the bird feeders near the restaurant are a delight. The food is really good - and there is a fire lit in the dining room in the evening as it can get quite chilly when the sun goes down…Breakfast is lovely - we were able to order what we wanted to have at 6.30 prior to an early morning pick up. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Highly recommended
