Bowen Terrace Accommodation

I stayed in a dorm room which had 4 persons therein. There is a modesty curtain that separated the 2 bunk beds which was quite nice touch too. It can get a touch hot in there but the hosts had a tun of fans in the room to get cooled down which worked. Bathroom and kitchen were super clean and the hosts were an absolute delight - they couldn't do enough for you. They even stored my big free of charge while I was in frazer island for 2 days. They also have a small outdoor area with a small pool and an outdoor terrace with a few tables on the first floor. Both were nice to sit in to enjoy dinner in brekkie. Close to cool restaurants and bars in new farm or a 5min bus ride into Brisbane. The buses go very regularly so distance from the city never bothered me. The good thing about the place is that it has a mixture of ages and isn't a "party" hostel which you probably would find in the CBD.

I recently spent 14 nights here in December 2017 and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Communcation prior to my stay including the arrangement of early hours airport transfer to the accomodation was extremely useful, and the company used good value for a single traveller. Communication and assistance during my stay was also top notch and nothing was too much trouble for the small but excellent staff team. I must also comment that the value for money for a double ensuite was exceptional and the room and indeed the entire house and grounds was spotless during my stay. The kitchen was well stocked with essential cooking implements and again extremely clean and tidy, a testement to the work ethic of the staff and indeed generally the ethos of the other guests. I have stayed at places where things get left and the condition rapidly detoriates as everyone leaves it to others. This didnt happen here. There was also plenty of room in the downstairs main fridge. One nice touch was the botle of water in the in room fridge which i found upon arrival. This was a much appreciated gesture after a fairly long journey and early hours arrival. The accomodation is well served by 2 routes of local bus that stop nearby and a walk into the cbd via the river was circa 30 minutes. So whilst not in the centre you certainly weren't stuck out on a limb. All in all i would definitely recommend Bowen Terrace accomodation to anyone visiting Brisbane, especially those that don't feel the need to slap bang in the centre. The only improvement i would make would be the addition of air conditioning to the bedrooms or replacing the ceiling fan for one that was lower hanging as the ceiling in the bedroom was very high and the fan didn't seem to make much impact. However that did not detract from what was an excellent, peaceful stay. Paul

I had a great time at Bowen Terrace Accommodation, feeling at home in the house, not so many people make it a bit more quiet and peaceful than bigger places! I loved taking my morning tea on the terrace upstairs and chatting with Ann and her assistant every time I saw them, they are so lovely and warm!

Staff is very friendly. The value for the Money is excellent. There are a lot good places for breakfast and dinner just around the corner. The free ferry is just 15 minutes walking away. Walking to CBD takes roughly 30 minutes.

I needed a home base as I was completing a short term teaching contract in the City. Bowen Terrace Accomodation was a great find. With very friendly, helpful staff, this beautifully restored and maintained century old character home in New Farm (hipster capital of SE Qld) was everything I hoped for and more... Spoilt for choice with local restaurants and bars...walking distance to everywhere... public transport 50 metres from the front door with buses running every 15 minutes 7 days a week + the beautiful Brisbane River free City Hopper ferry service just a short walk away. The house is very comfortable with a large shared kitchen, plenty of fridge space, plenty of bathroom/shower facilities. A swimming pool and a breezy patio area for enjoying the balmy weather. I stayed for 8 weeks and I had not one complaint. I highly recommend this delightful, reasonably priced accommodation.

Lovely traditional old Queensland House. The owner Anne is most welcoming and very helpful. Her staff are most helpful also. The house can be noisy in the evenings due to its traditional construction. I.e. thin walls. Would recommend. Very good value for money.

Staff was nice and friendly. Facilities were OK, but my room was under stair. So couldn't get sunlight and any view through the window.

Stayed here for one night. I would recommend it to anyone. Clean rooms and friendly staff.

Reminds me of the old charm of how accommodation use to be. Genuine staff, real wood instead steel and plastic, shared clean facilities, no air conditioning but ceiling fans and very airy and has a swimming pool out the back (very welcome during our stay). Definitely consider another stay.

The staff were friendly and efficient. The hostel was always kept very clean and the kitchen is well equipped. I stayed in a downstairs twin room which was hot, although a fan was provided. I didn't like that I stayed nearly A week and the sheets on my bed were never changed, and the bin not emptied, despite the other bed being changed regularly for new guests. There are two nice decks to sit on.
