"Small Room, horrid shower."

6.0

Was on a bike tour while staying at this hotel. After a beautiful stay at our hotel in Beaune, this hotel was a let down. I think out of our group we had by far the smallest room. Luckily we are both short so the tilted ceilings were not a problem. The bed was comfortable though, the breakfast was good, and never crowded. Our biggest problem was the shower. When we first turned in on, it was in a position to get the whole bathroom soaked, and it was hard to get into a position where it wouldn't. I would probably stay somewhere else if staying in this vicinity again.

"Nice small hotel"

8.0

Arrived late so our key was left in our room. We had a basic room, and it was just that:basic. The view you get in the day time from the back of the hotel is gorgeous! Breakfast was very good, with lots of choice. Service was super friendly. Beware if you don’t like dogs, there is a dog in the dining room at breakfast. Good balue for the money.

"Overnight stop as we headed south. "

8.0

A lovely little hotel in a small town surrounded by vineyards. We were welcomed to the hotel and felt at ease straight away, parking was just across the road as the main car park was being used for those picking vines however this wasn’t an issue. Our room was up some very narrow stairs so not great if you have some mobility concerns however for us it was fine. The room was simple but perfectly adequate for what we needed and I liked it. It was very clean and the shower was hot and strong-just what you need after a long day travelling. We had a good view of the vines from the two big windows. We had opted for the meal platter and enjoyed this sitting outside in the late September sun (we were cold so do take a jumper as there wasn’t an option to eat inside as this was laid for breakfast.) we loved the salted butter and are now converts! The selection and amount on the meal platter was good. The wine we ordered to go with our meal was fantastic-very good value and the wine list is extensive. You can also purchase wine from the cave below the hotel-worth a visit before you leave. Breakfast was good, fresh and an ample continental choice with fresh coffee and hot chocolate. The town was very quiet but nice to wander around, we wanted to go for a beer when we arrived but couldn’t find an open bar other than a hotel down the road. There is a small mini bar in the room which I used for water although no kettle for a hot drink-thankfully we had a flask with us that was still hot so managed a cup of tea before bed-take supplies! The hotel is dog friendly, we booked through Sawdays and definitely weren’t disappointed. A great first night of our holidays and a great stop over.

"heerlijk Frans hotel !"

8.0

"LOVELY AND QUAINT HOTEL"

8.0

Set in the heart of a sleepy small French town, Hotel De Vougeot is an ideal stopover for the night.Overlooking the spectacular vineyards, the hotels offers a wonderful terrace to enjoy one of their excellent bottles of wine,so relaxing! Our bedroom was adequate, with all the usual amenities, you even get a minibar which houses a few beverages(there is a charge) We didn't have breakfast,so I can't comment on that one. They also don't offer dinner,so you have to make your own arrangements, however there are one or two restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.

"Pretty surrounding scenery amidst vineyard but dark room"

6.0

Well located hotel amidst vineyard scenery. Our room was in the same building as the reception and quite a climb up the narrow and steep steps if you have heavy luggage. Car park is behind the reception building and don't expect any help from the reception. Room was somewhat tired looking but adequate enough for the night. Although windows overlooked the vineyard, the room was rather dark and stuffy. Had to use the fan kept in the closet. No welcome wine or meat platter described in other reviews. The wine tasting nearby was very much a let down. They couldn't seem to be bothered with us at all and you had to pay for wine tasting, unlike free wine tasting in Australia and much more hospitable hosts.
