"No view of vineyard for us! "

4.0

The hotel is well located and the scenery surrounding it is absolutely stunning. However, we were very disappointed with our room because it was in a completely different building to those rooms described as "overlooking the vineyard". Rooms 8, 9 and 10 are in the front part of the hotel overlooking the street. Our room was right at the top of the building in an attic. To access it, there is a climb up narrow wooden stairs - we had no help with our luggage. The room was adequately furnished with basic bedroom furniture, but it was tiny. The bed was placed underneath the wooden roof beams and I banged my head a couple of times during the night! It was dark, gloomy, very hot and stuffy and the supplied fan did not really help. We found the much celebrated "terrace", around the corner at the back of the hotel by the car park, completely by accident (no help at all from any staff). We sat out in the sunshine on both days and were not offered anything in the form of refreshments. The meat platter and wine described (mouthwateringly) by others unfortunately did not appear! We were so annoyed by the lack of any kind of welcome or information from the owner or staff, that we did not bother with their (overpriced) breakfast. Despite everything, we had an amazing time celebrating my birthday. We found wonderful restaurants in the vicinity and will definitely return to the area but in one of the better hotels. If you are considering staying here, please make sure you ask for a room overlooking the terrace and vineyard or you will be bitterly disappointed. It is overpriced for what they have to offer.

"Wonderful place"

10.0

If you want to discover the heart of the « french wine heart », you can stay in this typical hotel of Bourgogne. You can buy wine with a reasonable price and taste the home made french breakfast ;) And such a winderfull view on « clos VOUGEOT »! Great...

"Delightful find"

8.0

Set in the middle of a vineyard with beautiful views this is the perfect stop if you are travelling through France. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The best pillows I have found. Breakfast is nicely prepared and I strongly recommend The cassis jam. We have been three times already on the way towards the south of Europe. Very very pleasant.worth the stop

"Charming traditional hotel"

8.0

We stayed here for a second time when travelling through Burgundy. The hotel has impressed us last time and was as good this time around. The rooms are spacious, and the quality of the fit out depends on the grade you choose, but both the comfort and the superior rooms have nicely fitted out bathrooms. The hotel is situated next to picturesque vineyards and although there are a few local dining options the hotel is just a short drive from Nuits St George where there is a wider choice. Breakfast is served in the reception/dining room and is a very good mix of cold options and coffee and tea served at the table. Would definitely return.

"Beautiful Layover"

10.0

We booked for our return trip from the south and were so pleased to have chosen this hotel. The surrounding area is gorgeous, the staff friendly and helpful, the room large and well-equipped, the breakfast satisfying, and the scenery unbelievably beautiful. There really isn't much more to say other than we will definitely return. Do consider that local restaurants are closed on Monday; the short drive to a neighbouring village isn't bad but if coming on a Monday, you should take this into consideration.

"In the heart of the vineyards"

8.0

On the Rue des Grands Vins, it is great to sit sipping wine overlooking the vines of Le Chateau Vougeot. You may not be able to afford that wine, but your host produces a good local pinot noir at a much more acceptable price point.

"Excellent B+B with Clos de Vougeot views"

8.0

This was our second stay, and we'd go back again. Our room, in one of the outbuildings, was comfortable, clean, quiet and well-equipped (including a small fridge) and had great views over the vineyard. There's free parking on site. The 'machon' (a plate of cold meats, cheese etc) is to be recommended, especially if the weather is good enough to have it on the terrace at the back. The owner makes his own wine - not grand cru but delicious and a perfect accompaniment to the machon. Breakfast is good, too and front of house really helpful.

"Tons of charm + location"

10.0

Superb hotel, very charming. Staff top notch - very professional yet friendly. Room very nice. Comfortable bed, nice shower, has tons old world charm. Location is great if you want to be out in the countryside/ vineyards yet have a great bakery down the street. Only caution is steep set of steps getting luggage up to our room - I managed fine but could see some having trouble with that.

"Lovely stop off venue on route to the south"

8.0

Owner very nice and helpful. Has good English. We arrived tired after travelling from Manchester with our dog. Given nice spacious room overlooking the vineyards. Cold cheeses and charcuterie with several bottles of red wine! Bed good size and very comfortable. Lovely soft sheets. Breakfast was an assortment of croissants, breads eggs, cereals fruits and jams. Good coffee and fresh juices. A bit pricey but worth it and would definitely go again and recommend it.
