Kinta Kan Cabañas Hotel Playa del Carmen

The serving Staff ( Connie & Julie) were the highlight, so friendly & recommendations were spot on, they worked so hard without any complaints. The food was amazing, highly recommend the tempura rock shrimp tostadas! The cleaners, and front staff were so awesome, friendly and so helpful. The breakfast staff (2 young men) not so friendly, condescending probably should look for a different line of work, customer service was not their forte! Hotel was nice, location is perfect, not 5 star but quaint, needs a bit more TLC, I’m a clean freak, so dark stains near windows and on ceiling could be fixed. We loved the chill music that played on some days but not the techno stuff that played all day, but were close to 60 sooo If we could guarantee the chill music, our palapa and Julie & Connie as servers we would stay again for sure! You’re on the right track for a 5 star!!

This was a terrible experience, the photos are deceiving. I was placed in a “cabana,” room with run down construction and patched over with wood, plastic etc. the sheets smelled dirty and the bathroom wasn’t well cleaned. The shades did not provide privacy because you could see everything into the room.

Great location but no parking for cars,staff was accommodating . Breakfast needs to be improved too

The bathroom needed a door, the property should issue one key per person for couples so that they arent locking the spouse in when they get breakfast. Haha. All around though, we loved it! And look foward to staying again!

Dirty

I travel a fair bit about 16 weeks a year. I've had my share of unclean hotels and rooms. From the second I walked in the entrance I felt things were neglected and run down. I was bit 4 times by flees or no-seeums while checking in while standing in their lobby. When I went to my room I was disappointed. The walls had black mold in several places. There was no way I could stay as I am very allergic. I went to the front desk, to mention the black mold and that the bathroom shower wouldn't drain. The front desk attendant didn't seem to care and brought a plunger to try to fix the shower. It had a plastic cover over the drain, I asked why, was explained it was to keep the bugs out. I showed him the mold and dirt all over the walls and he shrugged his shoulders. I requested another room, was told there were NO other rooms available. I said I could not stay, this was claimed a 3.5 star it wasn't a even a 2 star. VERY DISCUSED AND DISAPPOINTED. I asked for a refund and was told I would have to contact Hotels.com. Hotels.com tried several times to reach the hotel with NO RESPONSE. I was exhausted and I now had to find another hotel with NO REFUND and NO support. The pool area had moldy lawn chair cushions, the beds by the pool were dirty and should have been thrown out. I wouldn't dip a toe in their pool, it was also very dirty. I understand how difficult it is to keep a hotel clean I just believe this place needs immediate attention. I still have not hear back from Hotel Kinta Kan shows how much they care. I have been in contact with MC and will be posting several reviews at least I can help other people not make the mistake I made. Just look at my pictures, would you stay?

There is no refrigerator no, no drinking water shower has a little hot water. But its location is really nice. It’s right off the ocean. place clean the bed is Great. The pool side rooms are nice. When I open the curtains in the morning, the view of the beach and ocean was stunning

Location, location, location! If you want to be within walking distance to Quinta Avenida, Portal Maya, Paseo del Carmen Shopping Mall, ADO public transportation and the ferry terminal to take you to Cozumel, this is the place to stay. It's a beautiful place with a view! We stayed at one of the "ocean view" rooms, but didn't realize that it would actually be ocean front. It is a quiet, adults-only hotel that includes breakfast, a pool and did I mention it is right on the ocean?! The staff is friendly and attentive. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.
