Reflection on the Sea

The apartment was well maintained, with a modern feel a well situated for all Coolangatta has to offer. Very comfortable and relaxing place to stay.

Very little… the apartment was great. Only downside was the complex opens into a walkway shared with MacDonalds so there were a lot of people hanging around there and as it got later, it felt a little unsafe.

My friends and colleagues and I stayed at Reflection on the Sea in Coolangatta during a business trip, and the experience was absolutely perfect. The location is fantastic – right on the beach with stunning ocean views from our rooms, beautiful at all times of the day. The service was excellent, with friendly and attentive staff who really made us feel welcome. At one point, our parking spot was taken, but the hotel promptly notified us and quickly helped resolve the issue, which we really appreciated. We were all very satisfied with our stay and will definitely come back next time we’re in the Gold Coast. Highly recommended!

Location perfect, room, building and facilities were well below average. Our initial room was so run down we didn’t feel comfortable staying in it. Stained carpet, fire alarms hanging off the roof, broken furniture, black tape to hold the batteries in the tv remote. Cupboards were full of random things, literally like someone had lived in there for 3 years and moved out the morning we arrived. The smell and the bathrooms were horrible. The staff were professional and offered us another room which we looked at first and took as it was slightly cleaner. After driving 5 hrs and tired kids we didn’t have the option of finding somewhere else in the school holidays. There was rubbish in the drawers, hair in the bath, the couch had food all over it and 2 of the bed bases were ripped and fraying across the floor. No hairdryer and the balcony doors wouldn’t lock. There are signs everywhere telling you what not to do and only one lift operational, which I noticed from previous reviews has been broken for months. There may be nicer apartments but the 2 we saw were in dire need of love and a very good clean. Overall both buildings are worn and very run down. A lot seemed to be blamed on the recent cyclone but you could see damage more then a month old. Location and view were spectacular and the staff were lovely, but there are cheaper options in much nicer buildings, in the same location with exceptional facilities. These are strata appartments that obviously have a high turnover rate, were the owners seem not too interested in providing a clean comfortable space for holiday makers. Housekeeping need retraining and help on realising that guests like to walk into a room and feel like they are the first to have stayed there. Not to find someone’s old toothbrush.
