Very clean, very comfortable. The room had everything we needed, was delightfully decorated and spacious. The gardens were nice and breakfast was excellent.

We ate at the pizzeria and it was very disappointing for the price. We ordered the focaccia to start and this was two thin slices which were mostly air, though they did come with a nice balsamic and oil dip. We both ordered pizzas which came obviously well overdone and we had to send them back. When they did arrive they were pretty bland and had very little Parma ham despite us paying extra for this. It may be a little thing but when the bill comes close to £100 for pizza we expected a treat. We were also looking forward to visiting the swimming pool. We had to ask 4 members of staff before we found out that it would be £45 each for a swim on top of the £265 per night room charge (the first had told us it was free).

The room was clean and spacious and the air conditioning in the Beach House was a life-saver. The restaurant at the main hotel served good food. The buggy service from the Beach House to the main hotel was helpful.

There are a few inconsistencies in what is provided for example glasses/plastic beakers are needed in the bathroom, a seat / dressing table / desk area could easily be accommodated in the room to make it more comfortable and useful for dressing and somewhere to put teabags and other items after using the coffee / tea facilities would be good. The bar at the Beach House needs upgrading to offer a full range of drinks.

Lovely ambience and spacious rooms. Plenty of parking. Good restaurant and one of the best breakfasts you can ever have.

Someone had been smoking in our room prior to our visit. Bad smell in room and cigarette butts on the patio!

We had a good room. Comfortable, clean and with a good woodland view.

The breakfast was very average. A good choice of cooked food but a limited buffet selection. Not terrible but Premier Inn standard and not value for money.. The food in the Pizzeria was very poor - we left most of the food and then drove into Whitby to find something better. Were woken up at 6am by children running and shouting. Overall, it’s OK but very overpriced.

Beautiful location and grounds. The decor is tasteful with some lovely details especially the floral arrangements. The rooms in the beach house are nicely decorated but nothing special.

The staff were nice but needed some training to get the details right, how they addressed you or answered a query needed to be a bit more sophisticated. The food from The Pizzeria and breakfast could be vastly improved for a hotel of that level. There weren’t any locks on the inside of bedroom doors so I didn’t feel safe.
