Renaissance Sanya Haitang Bay Resort

房間蟲太多了，平常門窗要關好。服務態度很一般，設備很舊，客房電話都沒聲音。我訂的是海景房，房間離大堂很遠，走了快要10分鐘，結果進房間看窗外，根本就是椰子樹景房，海景都看不到，懶得回去換房了，感覺被擺了一道。下次再去三亞絕對不住這裡。

This is a pretty large resort with big comfortable rooms and a very large pool complex. We felt fairly alone until we went for the breakfast buffet which is absolutely nuts after 9 am. I would recommend going before 9 and having a friend hold on to the table. The resort caters to families but we found quiet areas near the pool bar and the starfish bar itself. Dining and drinks at the resort are pretty good and we enjoyed a few cocktails and burgers. The rooms are well appointed with large showers, big bath tubs and comfortable chairs or couches. We stayed in a king room and had no regrets other than the long walk to the lobby but we had a very short walk to the pool. There is a beach on the ocean but you cannot swim in it as the water is quite rough and the area is unsupervised. The location is not great so don't expect a quick walk or Didi ride to restaurants outside the resort. Please note that the bars and restaurants do close early some nights if they are not busy and the R Place Bar is currently renovating as of August 2020. I would say the good outweighs the bad if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing resort.

A Great location and very good value for the price.

If you think you can come here for a chilled out vacation, think again. The hotel hosted an outdoor event when we stayed here and they blared disgusting techno DDR music so unnecessarily loud with zero regard for other guests. Sure, events--be it a wedding or a company off site or just general party some music--is expected but I should not be able to hear every single word of the cheesy emcee loud and clear from the very far side of the enormous resort which takes me 10 minutes to walk the length of and which consists of 4 towers. There is a way to balance the need of that event's audience to be able to hear and do so without the entire hotel wanting to rip their ears off. I thought I booked a hotel, not a low-class lame nightclub. Complained to front desk three times and they did nothing. Other than that, it's generally a tired looking place. Food is meh. Lots of kids facilities if you're looking for that. Beach right in the front seems okay but you can't swim in it, and if you walk along for a hundred meters you'll find heaps of trash strewn about which is sad.

I couldn't ask for better service for my stay. Firstly, the rate was less than CNY400 and it was the low season. Staff was attentive and made extra effort to help me. Special thanks to Chris at breakfast. He was super busy and made every effort to make sure I am ok. Also Ivy at Chinese restaurant was helping me with the menu. David at concierge made extra effort to help me with train tickets. Lastly, Zoe at the spa was amazing. Thank you to all again. Resort is a bit isolated so you can't walk over to other resorts for additional dining options but it was sufficient for my 4 day stay. Pool facilities and my room were very nice considering how much it cost - definitely a steal for me. I must emphasis the best time to visit Hainan is during low season April to November. Peak season can be very busy and service can be affected. Also, I have basic mandarin knowledge so expect difficulties if you don't since most Hainan resorts cater to domestic travellers with the exception of a few top end hotels.

The beach is great, pool are fine but have is closed due to you can take a small boat ? Sorry this s pool or what? Fish bar, bad service, no English at all, need to wait almost 20min until someone is coming and ask what you want. Lunch time wanted to try the famous chicken, sorry don’t have, next day same issue. Lobby bar order pina colada, got just a coconut drink?? All very bad, only good service when you check in/check out. Totally disappointed of Renaissance

Reaching Sanya Phoenix airport, shuttle bus, Located conveniently not far from exit gate. Shuttle left The bay promptly on time for abt 50+KM journey to the hotel, expect About 45+ minutes trip. Entrance is vast open front and centrally located lobby, reception/check-in was Prompt and fast. Got a ground floor room, minutes away from the Beach. Rooms are well designed – with the exception T.V was a small size. Room had the standard amenities. bath robes, slippers, Irons, safe etc. Lobby bar: Tried it two times, but failed to meet expectations, it surely needs an experienced bar tender, cocktails could have been better prepared coming to breakfast, pretty good selection of hot dishes, variety of Fruits and juices. Staff were ready to make your choice if not pre-made Star Fish market/restaurant – beach front, has quite a list of reasonably priced wines, beers, cocktails. Etc. Red Star cafe was closed, property need more dining options. Beach, long, very long beach, unfortunately could not try due to Weather, waves were strong and quite fast. Quite big swimming pool, clear and clean water, small wading pool. Sufficient number of bath towels and toiletries, service from all members of Staff was exceptionally good, my thanks to MS Carol – guest manager, And Mr. Charlie – they made our stay more pleasant. It is far off from any commercial area, once checked in, you need to have your Meals/drinks within the hotel property, that is unless you are ready for at least Half an hour+ trip by taxi costing about CNY 100 (US$15+ … one way)

The hotel was huge with beautiful grounds to wander through. I loved the location right on the long sandy beach. Staff were all lovely, although if you're English, communication is challenging with most of them. The thing that surprised me was the lack of restaurants & how small they were for such a large hotel, but having said that I ate at the Star Fish each evening & it was never that busy. I don't know where everyone else was! The food was very good, except a lunch time salad which took 45mins & was basically a pile of leaves, not as described in the menu. So I cancelled my order & had an icecream instead! The very friendly manager didn't charge me for a cocktail that afternoon to make up for the salad fiasco!
