The room was in the courtyard of the hotel the bed was very big and so comfortable The breakfast was delicious The staff very friendly The hotel was just off the main high street so was very quiet but just a short stroll to be in the centre of it all

"Lovely hotel in a beautiful village but…."

We stayed for five nights at the Baytree in Burford and very much enjoyed our stay in this lovely village. The breakfasts are amazing and the staff are all extremely friendly - special shout out to Drew who went above and beyond - and the parking at the side of the hotel is a real bonus. The reason I have not given it a better score is because over those five days our bathroom was not cleaned once. Our towels were replaced but the bathroom certainly was not cleaned. On our second morning, when we went to breakfast at 8am, we requested that housekeeping not clean our room that day (stressing this request was only for that one day as we were attending a wedding) and asked that cleaning be resumed on the Sunday. However, while Housekeeping came in daily attending to our bedroom the bathroom remained untouched. When I asked reception about this on our departure I was told that we had to “request a bathroom clean if we wanted it cleaned”. I found this highly unusual and definitely got the feeling that this wasn't correct! Someone slipped up and the correct message clearly wasn’t given to housekeeping resulting in it most definitely affecting our stay - and the fact it wasn't addressed correctly when I asked means we'd probably not stay here again.

We stayed here for a couple of nights over the bank holiday. We had a really nice stay. The breakfast was awesome. All the staff were ever so nice and couldn’t be more helpful and were all so good with our little dog Rosie. Would definitely stay here again. The hotel is also in a great location.

Breakfast very good, restaurant OK location perfect

Our dinner main courses were very poor. Over cooked not presented well and all courses served too quickly. We were out of the dining room in 50mins. The restaurant says that it offers fine dining but our experience was anything but "fine "
