La Badia Di Orvieto

Historic monastery facing the town of Orvieto! Amazing!

La Badia was very comfortable, quiet and charming. We enjoyed the grounds and the pool and the close proximity to Orvieto. It felt like an oasis. We plan to return.

The setting..the historical significance and renovation all made for a very memorable stay. The staff were wonderful and very attentive to our needs

We stayed for one night and it was really nice. We chose this hotel because of the location near Orvieto, the free parking and the breakfast and it lived up to expectations! The building is so unique and really cool how they transformed the old building into a modern hotel. The room is really spacious, we even had a couch! When we arrived, our room was really nice and cool, it felt like there was AC. However, the longer we spent in the room, it felt more and more like the AC wasn't working. Not sure what was going on but we couldn't get it to blow anything except hot air...that made for a bit of an uncomfortable sleep, it got quite hot in the room. Other than that, the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The shower was nice, but because of where the shower head was placed, it made for a bit of a tight shower if you want to keep the water from going all over the bathroom floor. The crowning glory of this hotel is definitely their breakfast! They have cheeses, cold cuts, cereal, yogurt, fruit, pastries, eggs, bacon, juices, etc. It was great!

It is a 12 th century abbey ; incredible location and history

It was the fairy tale wedding of my son from Canada. Friends and family said it was like something out of a movie, and the best wedding they had ever been to! La Vadia catered to our every wish . The chapel was lovely and the outdoor settings only enhanced the experience

This place is spectacular! Gorgeous property, lovely staff - this was an amazing find and I would come back any time I was nearby.

The buildings and grounds are very beautiful and unique, but other features were disappointing. With one exception (the gentleman who handled service in the bar/outdoor patio in the afternoon), the staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. Dinner in the dining room was poorly prepared, over-priced and service was slow because they were understaffed. Poor amenities in the room - a random few tea bags, no info re mini bar prices (the contents of which appeared to have been there for a decade) and only tiny shampoo bottles in bathroom - no conditioner or shower gel. Overall, poor management of a stunning location.
