La Badia Di Orvieto

After spending 2 weeks in Umbria this was a lovely way to finish our vacation.

Hotel has lots of character. Staff was very helpful.

A complete perfect experience. Both the town Orvieto and the accomodation. Will no doubt be coming back and recommending all our friends come stay

This place really is amazing. 11th century frescoes. Absolutely stunning. We stayed in a very spacious suite with views of Orvieto. Just a couple of issues. First, not much staff, but the staff that were there were great and very helpful. This may just be a seasonal thing, as we were there in late November. Second, and maybe related, we got there later than expected anticipating eating in, but the highly regarded restaurant was closed. We were told that the chef had the night off, which is a bit odd. We had the sense that this was probably a seasonal thing again. They managed to pull off a really good restaurant, with eggs. In any event, we (my wife, my 8 yo daughter and I) would really love to stay here again. Possibly even host an event there.

We have traveled extensively and this was one of our all time favorites. The rooms are rather simple but the facility is stunning. A 700 year old monestary which has been converted into an impressive boutique lodging and restaurant. The service and food were excellent. A short drive to the beautiful medieval city of Orvieto. Couldn’t have asked for a more enjoyable two days in Umbria.

A quaint hotel with history and a great view of Orvieto, Umbria, Italy. The staff was courteous and friendly. Very quiet and tranquil surroundings. A great base from which one can explore Orvieto and Umbria. Also only 1 1/2 from Rome.

The hotel was a little run down and "under loved" and although the old building was dramatic, we felt that our deluxe room was not as we we expected for the price. The lady on reception was charming but others we less so. The pool area was not good. The water was clean but the surrounding areas where the loungers were placed was scruffy, muddy and off putting.

It was definitely geared more towards older couples.

What an amazing hotel, all the staff were so helpful, good pool to cool off in and the food was exceptional, we had our breakfast and an evening meal. The waiters were extremely well versed in the menu and wines and the setting is 2nd to non. Would be perfect for any stay. The location is good but you do need a car if your going into Orvieto as it is quite a walk uphill, but getting a taxi is no problem. Couldn't fault it at all and would definitely return.
