Onomo Hotel Dakar

The hotel staff at reception has no concept of customer service. They were ice cold during my check-in process and when I asked if someone from the reception or restaurant could bring me up a spoon as had the flu, was weak and had high fever, they flat out said no. The rooms are outdated and not clean at all. I actually ended up checking out a whole day early as I could no longer stand one more night in the hotel.

This hotel is a complete joke and so disappointing. On top of the cold check-in process, the rooms are outdated and even the in-room information is outdated. I happened to have checked in with the flu. After first being rejected by the restaurant to bring something to my room for me to eat as I was physically too weak to go down, I was then completely dismissed by the reception staff and restaurant staff to kindly bring me up a fork and spoon to drink the soup I had to have delivered from an outside restaurant. The lack of customer service and human consideration is mind-blowing. Nothing about this hotel is worth it.

I know Onomo has built its brand as a near-airport hotel and has had for major clients airlines' crew. So for the Dakar, when the airport moved, their business model collapsed. Boy, the mosquito swarm at the Lobby is nightmare. Really I don't know any reason I will go back.

The Onomo aka O No More, was once a bustling place no doubt. But when the airport moved, the hotel should have moved as well. Rooms were hot and dirty. The lack of air conditioning and the abundance of mosquitos made the common areas difficult at best. The staff was generally very helpful and pleasant, the upside to the experience.

Rooms are dirty, bed makes you wish you had a sleeping bag, and shower makes you want to wear flip flops in it. Door was wide open upon arrival, back door lock was stripped and unlock-able. Room safe could be ripped from the wall with ease. Restaurant food was questionable, burger didn't taste remotely like beef. By western standards this is a motel, not a hotel, and a security is a nightmare. Do not recommend.

Nice and cozy hotel.. loved the gym and restaurant experience.. dinner was delicious and proximity to taxis to get around the city, quite convenient. Hotel is also along a known highway so quite easily accessible. Overall it was a great experience for short term stay. I was not able to charge my laptop due to country specific plugs, i will carry an extension cable next time.

I was first time to Dakar and had to stay at this hotel, was excited but got really disappointed with the hotel. No good rooms, small and it smells bad. No good service to offer. Need a lot of improvement in this hotel. Never coming back.

I spent a week in the Onomo Hotel during a business trip to Dakar and found this hotel to be barely adequate yet expensive for the facilities provided. Previously, the main attractiveness of this hotel was its presence close to the airport, however, the new airport is now 50 km away - about an hours drive. The room had a musty smell that could not be got rid of - if you opened to door to air the room the local insects came in. The mustiness is probably due to the shower being open to the room with no ventilation system to extract steam from the room. The air conditioning was certainly not removing the dampness. Cleanliness was marginal; while the floors were mopped daily, there was a grime build up in the textured surface of the tiles and the tiled lower part of the walls. In short, the room needed a good spring clean. The bed was a quite firm mattress on a wooden base - again, barely adequate and not very comfortable. I often woke with aching hips or back due to the hardness of the bed. The hotel restaurant breakfast was a basic continental offering - OK but nothing special. For evening meals during the week there was usually a buffet, or meals could be ordered a la carte. The a la carte meals were reasonable value but not spectacular. This hotel was fairly close and convenient to where I was working for the week, however, if I have to return to Dakar I will be selecting another hotel.

comfortable hotel, but dirty in the room, sticky floors, the breakfast is good with a lot of food and good quality. Wifi connection is free and good speed on all parts of the hotel. Price is correct with the relation of the quality.
