Onomo Hotel Dakar

this is an ideal hotel for travelers needing somewhere to refresh themselves and possible snatch and hour or two of sleep between flights. It has all the essential needs both in the rooms and at reception and restaurant level.

I recently stayed at ONOMO Dakar and it was an overall decent experience. A convenient choice in a relatively quite area (if you do not mind the sound of aeroplanes). The rooms are comfortable and cool which is essential for me. I found the food onsite to be over-priced. The level of english spoken by staff was quite variable. Shower areas could do with a decent scrub and bleach to preserve them better.

With a total of 7 hours to kill between two flights, I picked this hotel for its proximity to Yoff airport, based on the recommendation of a colleague. I was not disappointed. The location was perfect, a 10 minute ride from the terminal, the room modestly elegant and the facilities - i.e. wi-fi, restaurant and bar - more than adequate. Most importantly, the hotel offers a half-day rate - a rare accommodation in Dakar, and ideal for the transit passenger.

The ONOMO hotel is conveniently located 5 minutes from the airport so is great for short trips. The hotel has clean rooms, comfortable beds, working AC and hot water, friendly staff, wireless internet (though weak reception) and a good restaurant (main courses run around $14 but are well prepared). On my recent stay the room had a funny smell that seemed to dissipate over time and there were only 4 or 5 stations on the TV that worked - but overall I'd recommend it as high end hotels in Dakar are very expensive and this is more reasonable.

Fresh and lovely breakfast served, the employees tried to speak my language. warm employees.I loved the quietness of the environment.

Close to airport (5 mins). Room was very small and noisy if planes are taking off in northerly direction. Had a very early start (4.30) but staff went out of their way to ensure a continental breakfast was available before I left. Transit hotel for a lot of mine workers. Bit overpriced.

Great hotel. rooms were clean and nearly no noise. Very good dinner (Breakfast was OK). People were really kind there.

No frills experience good for short stays but for longer stays I'd recommend a hotel with better facilities. Breakfast was average at best. Good breads and croissants as you'd expect in a francophone country but the protein selection was dire. Lunch was much better. Staff were friendly enough. Good points: clean, no hassle environment. Very close to the airport and free transfer, promptly delivered.
