"Great Location & Room"

Great location especially for festivals and old town. The best room, friendly staff, public onsen, really enjoyed traditional breakfast. Make sure the hotels helps with dinner reservations, they did not offer for us and a lot of restaurants book up.

"Wonderful place to stay"

This is a beautiful place to stay, located on the river with amazing views. The staff were amazing attentive and kind, showing us everything. The food was wonderful and it was nice to have an option for continental breakfast. The futon was a bit tough on my old bones, on the second night the staff doubled up the mattress and it made a massive difference 🥰

"Ryokan hotel based at the very heart of Takayama."

This traditional Japanese ryokan is very centrally based in Takayama. We had a wonderful view of the town and surroundings from our balcony. The futon beds are very warm and comfortable. The traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast were excellent. The staff at the hotel were all very friendly and polite.

We really enjoyed our 2-night stay at this traditional-style Japanese onsen hotel. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. And it was fantastic to have such easy access to the very pleasant and atmospheric onsen on the top floor. The dinners and breakfasts were very good. It’s worth noting that these meals are served in the dining room on the second floor, not in your guest room. This allowed for efficient service and a very comfortable experience at a dining table with chairs rather than being seated on the tatami mats. Looking back at previous reviews for this hotel, I can see that many things have changed over the years. It would be best to ignore reviews from a few years ago as so many things have changed significantly since then. Highly recommended
