"We will be back!"

We stayed in the sister hotel Honjin Hiranoya Kachoan. Service was impeccable as they accommodated our every request including pickup/drop-off from the train station & staff coming to our room to help us put on our yukata & kimono The traditional breakfast & kaiseki dinner were an experience not to be missed! Free kimono rental was a real treat as well Great location as it was within a few minutes walk to the red bridge & old town + the markets

"Well located 3 Star Ryokan with good food"

This ryokan Is very nicely placed in Takayama, and a short walk to many of the key sites and activities. The room Had a good view and was a decent size, but it was probably due some redecoration. Perhaps the most pleasing aspect was the quality of the food, both the dinnerAnd for the traditional Japanese breakfast. This and the transfer to and from the station helped make the stay good value. Recommended.

"Impeccable "

Amazing hotel with perfect location (right by the old town and morning markets, and fantastic service. If you are into experiencing the real Japanese culture of sleeping on a tatami, 5-star course by course fine-dining Japanese meal in your room, or their in-house sushi bar (just opposite the hotel) with an experience sushi chef, then this is the right hotel for you. Their service is impeccable since the very first step you walked into the hotel till you said goodbye to them. I can't wait to go back and stay in this hotel again. Hotel is not new but still maintained well and clean. I love their onsen too which I visited twice during the 2 nights stay.

"Love this Japanese Inn"

Love this inn. The location is great. They will pick you up from the train station. The staff is very very nice, the food is delicious! I stumbled into this inn on my last trip to Japan and couldn't wait to go back. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Takayama.

Wonderful experience overall as it was a unique dinner experience and the hotel is in perfect location - but if you are not used to sleeping on a futon and a very hard pillow then its somewhat difficult to sleep well.

"Really nice ryokan with fantastic meal"

We stayed here for 2 nights. The Ryokan is conveniently located next to the famous red bridge and just a stone throw away from then Old Town. Special commendation to Hyejin who was awesome and attended to our needs very meticulous.
