Marsh Farm Hotel

Website shows an inviting looking country hotel - not what you get in reality. Reception was dull and dingy, no one on the desk when I arrive only a notice with 2 mobile phone numbers to call for attention - first number was switched off, second went straight to voicemail- not what you need after a long drive. No information given on check in re breakfast times, nor was there any information in the room. Threadbare carpet on the stairs and very basic/ dated furniture in rooms. I did not use the bath or shower due to the look of it and the toilet did not look as though it had been properly cleaned. Breakfast was a very sorry affair, minimal choice even for continental! WiFi was available but no USB ports in the room. Yes it was cheap, yes it was a good location for the centre of Wootton Bassett. But the whole place is in a sorry state and in need of a refurb.

DO NOT STAY I have never in my life had to walk out of a hotel but this hotel i did. We were given the room key went into the room and the toilet didn’t work. We were given a second room and it was horrible used tissue on the floor dust everywhere cobwebs and spiders. The mattress was stained completely by bloodily fluids. Sink wouldn’t drain and all but two plug sockets worked in the room. We had items left from previous people staying so obviously hadn’t been cleaned since, it was just shocking, they also refused to refund us for are 1 hour stay. Booking.com tried for a refund but the hotel refused and booking gave a huge a £16 in credit which in all honesty is just an insult. Sorry but 0stars isn’t a thing on here but wanted to leave a review that actually reflects the hotel as also found out it used to be a lovely place however after new management things have definitely gone down hill ! We had to find other accommodation who sadly knew exactly our situation and where without us having to say a word so that just tells you how often guests are forced to leave due to the unsanitary accommodation. The hotel also refused to refund and booking.com gave me £16 of compensation so won’t be using ether again

Conveniently situated.

Unable to open the window for fresh air. Breakfast was just adequate. The restaurant had been closed- this was not made clear on the booking conformation. Its overall internal and external appearance is that of a rundown establishment struggling in the current economic climate.

the breakfast I was expeting was a full English but was told it was a contlnetal breakfast so we desidied to go and find a cafe on the next day we went for the contilnetal breakfast and found so small boxes of cerial and a slice of bread and a small amount of fruit juice leved the hotel looked a bit run down

I travelled for work 2 nights i just wanted somewhere to shower and sleep that was clean warm and comfortable, my room was all of that.

There wasn't anything not to like it was basic but the price was good.
