"A delightful hotel with amazing views"

9.0

A quirky hotel with amazing views over Lake Windermere. Evening meals were excellent made with passion by the Italian chef. Tommy and Craig were an amazing pair who catered for our every need and looked after us superbly during our stay. Nothing was too much trouble. Good car parking and a lovely outside garden to wander around. Our room was comfortable with a great view over the lake.

"Wonderful Lakeland retreat"

The welcome from identical twins Craig and Tommy was fantastic. All the staff were lovely. The location was perfect. The food in the restaraunt was very good.

Nothing, I liked it all, even the quirky geese in the lounge.

A beautiful old property nestled in immaculate gardens with stunning views, set away from the road . Excellent parking on site. Very friendly staff who went out of their way to ensure your stay was perfect. Delicious food served at breakfast and in the evening.

Nothing, it was perfect for us.

Hotel beautiful and garden. Bedrooms amazing and comfortable bed. We got a brilliant deal. Breakfast and evening meal fab. The 2 Scottish lads who run it were brilliant. An amazing welcome and looked after. Just could not ask for a better hotel or service.

"Fabulous will definitely return"

9.0

Staff were absolutely brilliant so attentive from the minute we arrived. The room had everything we needed. Breakfast was gorgeous had full English and they also had a selection of cereals, fruit, bread and pastries. The location was great literally overlooking the lake at the back. We were able to let our dog off in the back where he could have a run around. The view at breakfast this morning was stunning. Will definitely return.

"Not as depicted, overpriced. Amazing staff, beautiful views"

6.0

We have just returned from what was a relatively pleasant stay at The Ryebeck Hotel, the staff were very accommodating of which there seem to be only a few members working every hour god sends! They are an absolute credit to this hotel which unfortunately we found to be not quite as depicted. The decor was odd to say the least; someone’s really missed the mark here - on the one hand there’s some quite tasteful neutral tones and classic styles but this is then dramatically ruined by garish graffiti, both in the room and around the hotel. Those bits are quite frankly hideous and in my opinion misplaced here!! The monopoly man and pink panther on our bedroom wall were quite unusual in what we expected to be a classy little hotel. It just lacks finesse, the pictures on the walls were wonky, the room hadn’t been hoovered (there was still a sweet wrapper on the floor), our room in the annexe had an unlocked door leading to a staircase which was a little disconcerting really. The coffee machine didn’t work and it all just felt a little grubby throughout - dust on windowsills, paint splatters where things had been touched up. These aren’t major problems but do contribute to a lesser experience, especially when paying over £200 per night. Having said this, the breakfast was lovely, the bar area very welcoming, the views are really beautiful and it’s such a peaceful little hotel. It really could be something quite special but the owners could do with investing some money into an update, revamp and a higher standard of cleaning. The location is ok, the walk to Windermere is about 15/20 mins but this does include a section of busy road with a path that certainly wouldn’t be recommended after dark, so we walked into town but got a taxi back for a fiver.
