Hotellerie Saint Yves

This lovely former seminary, built in about the 17 century, is right around the corner from the cathedral. The room was quiet, had its own bathroom, and the window looked over the courtyard and to the spires of nearby buildings, including the cathedral. The buffet breakfast was quite filling, and the staff were helpful.

I loved every aspect of my stay there just regretted it wasn't longer!

Facilities in the hotel are very basic but this is reflected in the price. The rooms were spotless and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is in an almost perfect position: just behind the cathedral.

This is a converted monastery in the old city very close to the cathedral. The location can't be beat and is very quiet. It isn't luxury, but completely serviceable with everything you need and a friendly staff. A good value, and did I say the location can't be beat? If driving, it is tricky to find, but if you have a GPS, put in the address, and when you reach it, watch for signs to the hotel (which will be around the corner and up a very narrow street, then through a gate at a tight corner). There is free parking if space permits.

We were travelling from the south of France to Paris and we wanted to drop off our rental car somewhere close to Paris to avoid driving there. Chartres was ideal, the city with its world famous cathedral and its narrow streets was a great attraction. The light show in the evening was a bonus as we had not heard about this. The hotel is somewhat utilitarian however the room was clean, the desk personnel friendly and the location superb.

From the moment we checked in staff were awesome. Breakfast and afternoon tea were delicious.

Superb location and free parking if you can navigate the restricted road around cathedral.

The accommodations are simple but very clean and had everything we needed. Great part of town for walking to everything. The wifi connection was outstanding!

great small hotel close to the cathedral..clean rooms, comfortable beds, workable bathrooms..great for the price paid..buffet breakfast was also decent..staff at the reception was courteous and suggested a great restaurant for dinner as well as other sights in the area..would certainly return if in the region
