Hotellerie Saint Yves

Almost impossible to find, even with gps; multiple one-way streets and traffic obstacles. Be prepared to spend a lot of time and frustration getting there. Otherwise the hotel was comfortable, reasonable, and well situated, just around the corner from the cathedral.

Locating the hotellerie was difficult and once found, we appreciated the 'cloistered' nature of the property. Proximity to the cathedral was outstanding and our view overlooking the town was lovely. It is a budget-level hotellerie.

Wild stay again. Hard to drive to. Great location. It is not the Hilton, but a nice Europian hotel at a reasonable price. Staff spoke English

two nights in Chartres with my husband. Had to book a twin room (which are cheap and cheerful with plastic toilet / shower cubical in the corner) because was full. However when we arrived we found we were in their larger room (double and single bed with proper bath in bathroom attached) for the same price as they had over booked.Thank you! Much more comfortable and for a middle aged couple, much better. THE BEST place to stay in Chartres unless you can get a B and B on the square as literally just round the back of the cathedral. Good parking. Best approach via Rue Des Acacias from the front of the cathedral. If you put the road it's on in your sat nav it will take up and down one way medieval streets! Just say "St Yves" at the intercom at the eclectic bollard ad put it down for you. No trouble

Room was simple but clean, quiet, and comfortable. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Great value.

Superb location. Room not made up on arrival at 1700, but excellent receptionist at once allocated another room. No heating so went to bed at 2100. No TV - no loss. Very pleasant hotel .

Hotel had no record of our booking. Thankfully we had printed confirmation from Expedia and they gave us a room. Hotel is more of a hostel and is at best 'functional'.

Lovely hotel in historic building with friendly staff. However breakfast wasn't anything special and we weren't given advance warning that reception is closed after 5pm. We had a panic trying to check in at 10pm and had to ask a guest who happened to pass for an emergency contact number as the hotel was completely locked up.

I spent two nights here and was very comfortable. The only complaint I have about my visit is it was extremely difficult to find the hotel. It took two nice French people to get me there! Better signage or directions would be helpful. I take heart that it wasn't just me, as I remember reading other reviews with similar comments. Once I was there I could relax and not get in the car again until it was time to leave. I loved being right next to the cathedral and in the heart of the old town.

No frills hotel in Chartres. About 100 yard walk to the back of the cathedral, so you a great location. Breakfast was adequate. Covers on the beds were a little soiled, but everything else seemed clean. The view was great. It is hard to find because of one-way streets, but there is free parking, which was helpful. Would definitely go back to this hotel.
