Hotellerie Saint Yves

Very hard to find. Room had 3 chairs; no desk. Bathroom prefab unit was barely adequate. Shower not adequate. Would stay there again , I think. Staff was great.

fabulous place. simple but good rooms. bed very comfortable. lifts to all floors but step up into bathroom as shower was a plastic pod. But worked ok. had to check out at 10 abit early for my 81 yr old step mother!

Stayed one night in single rooms which were a little spartan bearing more than a passing resemblence to monks cells - but that was all part of the experience. Fantastic location a stone's throw from the cathedral.

A really beautiful building right in the heart of Chartres by the Cathedral. Staff we saw spoke good English.

Breakfast was great, economical, and convenient. The receptionist was excellent. She was certainly knowledgeable and truly helpful. Delightful stay and will surely recommend it to friends.

The excitement with this hotel was finding it. We arrived at 9 pm, which is after the front desk clerk leaves. We called ahead and made arrangements for the porter to give us the key. The tricky part was that the hotel is right next to Chartres Cathedral and it is in a pedestrian-only area. You drive up to a barrier and speak into an intercom that goes to the local police station. You tell them you are staying at the Hotellerie St. Yves and they lower the barrier for you. Go to the right of the cathedral and behind it. There is an alleyway back there with a sign indicating no entry. You can drive back there anyway and it takes you to the hotel's parking lot. The porter was very nice and although there was a bit of a French/English language barrier, we communicated adequately. The room was simple and very clean - rather like a college dorm room (except for the clean part). The bathroom was small, like you would find in a cruise ship cabin. But the price was excellent and being right next to the cathedral was very handy for seeing the light show. I highly recommend it.

Really enjoyed our stay. The place is a little old, a little run down, and the rooms are small. But that is more than made up for by the value, the cleanliness, and the location!! You are literally less than a stone's throw away from the cathedral, it can't be more than a 100 yard walk to the entrance.

Nice hotel close to the most interesting places to visit. Might be hard to find even with navigator due to ongoing constructions. Hotel personnel will give help via phone.

This cute hotel is located at the north side of the Cathedral of Chartres, which is 3 minutes walk to the Cathedral. It is quiet and clean. We arrive there at 6:30. After chech-in and dinner, we have a nice walk around the Cathedral. From our room, we can overlook the streets outside. We even found a mini labyrinth at its backyard below our window. The staff are very informative and lovely with warm welcome.
