AUWe stayed at the Lucky Star Phnom Penh recently when we first arrived in Phnom Penh. The rooms are basic and the decor outdated but with the minimum amenities you need. The staff did speak good English and were helpful each time we needed some information. The lady at reception when we did the check in was a bit abrupt but after that, every single person we spoke to was always smiley and very nice and helpful. Our room wasn't spotless but at least the sheets were clean and changed regularly. The wifi was a bit temperamental. We realised pretty quickly though that we were a bit far away. Tuk Tuk are at the front each time you need to go to the centre though. You are next to the Olympic Stadium and City Mall if you need anything but you will want to go to either the riverside or BKK 1 and these are not next door. However for the price we paid, that was definitely good value! Looking at some of the other reviews, yes there was people smoking on the landing just outside our room and we could smell it in the room each time someone was smoking... But the corridor was kept clean and no cigarettes on the floor for us.
Value: Cheap, Inexpensive, Low-priced; Service: Lacking; Don't pay more than $3 for a tuk-tuk into the main part of Phnom Penh. If you ask how much first they will ask for $5.
it was a nice economic hotel near olymic stadium and city mall. staff was nice and helpful.
The website infomed that the following are available in the room among other facilities: cofee/tea maker, furnished balcony, phone,in-room safe, plasma TV (it was a normal TV available), slippers, wired high-speed internet. NONE of these facilities were available in the room. In addition, the wifi signals was so poor I could not use internet at all. The door to the room balcony is not lockable. It was facing to a busy kitchen, an ugly and disgusting view. The hotel management flatly refused that these facilities are not available in their hotel. What I got only a pair of slippers. Information provided in the website was misleading. Otherwise, I would have chosen another hotel.

MYClean room, friendly staff, good location. The staff are english speaking. The room is value for your money. Walking distance to many places. if you are tired to walk there are many tut tut waiting in front of the hotel.
La chambre double est grande. La salle de bain est n'est pas très bien entretenue. Hôtel sympa pour le prix.
Not in a good location and over priced. There are much better guest houses to stay in, closer to the city and cheaper.
