"Good"

Spent one night accompanied by our dog. Bedroom was small but comfortable. Patio area was convenient but overgrown. Evening meal was lovely but very overpriced. Breakfast disappointing. Dog dining room was a great idea. Temple spa products in room was fantastic. Grounds lovely. Overall, hotel needs updating.

"A great hidden gem"

10.0

Decided to take a short break and found this hotel which after reading trip advisor had great reviews. From entering the hotel you are greeted which warmth and friendliness. We were shown to our room which was Tavy at the front of the hotel, room was a good size and bathroom had everything you need. Good tea and coffee facilities, there is a fridge in the cupboard which would have been nice to have had fresh milk in, it’s a small thing but a nice touch. We had both dinner and breakfast included and neither disappointed, the ingredients was fresh well thought out and super tasty with a good choice. The desserts were a nice size and very yummy. On the second day we suffered the dreaded storm we were out for the day but on our return there had been no power since 9.30 and a generator was being fitted so didn’t come back on till almost six . True professionalism they managed to lay on the evening meal as a bbq style which was true genius with what little time they would have had congratulations well done.

Another wonderful couple of days at Mill End. Staff, bedrooms, dining experiences all first rate. It’s comfortable and classy without being pretentious. We just love our breaks here. Sitting in the garden with a glass of wine is just delightful. Thoroughly recommended to all.

"MILL END HOTEL - OUR FIFTH VISIT - HOTEL OF EXCELLENCE"

10.0

This was our fifth visit to this wonderful hotel with its amazing staff who welcome you back with hugs and chocolates, they are all super stars and there care and kindness brings us back again and again. The food is to live for and there is a different menu each evening, created by culinary masters who's works are creations in themselves. Housekeeping keep everything spotless and you never want for anything. Monday 15 September we arrived at ‘The Mill End’ Hotel around 5.50pm for our four night stay. We were greeted by a very nice lady called Julia and was given a very warm welcome; we were staying in the ‘Lyd Room’. The ‘Lyd’ Room was situated on the first floor; all the rooms in the hotel were named after various rivers which flow through Devon. We were then shown to the ‘Lyd Room’. It was a medium size double room with a shower room and walk in shower. There was a small dressing table with a chair. There was a beverage area with a kettle, bottled still water, a selection of drinks which included fruit teas, tea, and coffee and hot chocolate and complimentary shortbread biscuits and lovely artwork on the walls. The furnishings were of a pale grey design in keeping with the ‘chic décor’ of the building. The bedroom was a medium size and the décor was done out in a light grey green paintwork with pale grey furniture. We had a double bed with white cotton sheets and duvet and a ‘Green and Cream’ bed coverlet with green and cream brocade cushions and matching curtains at the window which overlooked the garden at the front of the hotel. We had a separate tiled en-suite bathroom that had a walk in shower and had lovely hot water, soft fluffy towels, complimentary ‘Temple Spa’ toiletries and white slippers. It was completely done out in white tiles with silver ‘Modern’ style bathroom fittings and a large mirror. What can we say except that we hope to see you all again in the not to distant future.

"Gorgeous"

10.0

We have stayed multiple times over the past years and Mill End never disappoints, in fact, it gets better and better. The hotel itself is lovely in such a picturesque location but what makes it extra special is the staff and the wonderful food. All the food is beautifully prepared and presented with a dinner menu changing nightly. We stayed in 'Avon' this time, a spacious suite with an enclosed balcony and access to the gardens - perfect for our labrador. Will return without doubt.

"Fabulous!"

We have just had the best 2 nights with our 2 Greyhounds at this hotel! Beautiful place, amazing staff and the food is phenomenal! Highly recommend it to anyone! Has its own little secure paddock for off lead play and rooms that are comfortable, clean and open straight out into the gardens! Can’t recommend enough! 🥰🥰

We feel lucky to have found this great people friendly and dog friendly hotel. We had a wonderful time felt well looked after by the excellent people who work there. Everything was of a high standard; cleanliness, room, food and staff. Dog owners were made to feel very comfortable having their dog with them. At meal times you can either leave your pet in the bedroom, if it is settled, and dine in the dinning room without your dog or if you prefer to have your dog with you there is the doggie dinning room. There was also a dog field. Towels are provided in the boot room to give your dog a rub down so no stress if you get back from a wet or muddy walk. I think non dog owners would be happy as it didn't feel like dogs were everywhere. Every meal was delicious and beautifully presented and the waiting staff were knowledgeable. I eat gluten free, we had told them so when we booked the room a coupe of months prior. Without having to remind them I was told whether a meal could be adapted for me and then when put in front of me I was told, for example, here is your Eggs Florentine on gluten free toast which was hugely reassuring. It was lovely to dress for your evening meal making it feel all the more special. We can't praise the Mill End Hotel enough and we will definitely be back.

"Everything is excellent at the hotel."

10.0

My sister and I took our mother to stay here as a trip down memory lane, 62 years after we last stayed! The hotel has the best of everything. The staff are so helpful and friendly. Obviously very well trained and all dressed in uniform. The hotel is very comfortably furnished and the rooms of a very high standard. The position of the hotel is lovely and rural on the edge of the village. The food at dinner is some of the best we have ever eaten. High praise for the chef and the team in the kitchen. This is coupled with the servers who are knowledgeable and courteous at all times. As is befitting a hotel of this calibre the guests dressed for dinner and it really made the stay very special. Thank you so much to the Mill End Hotel.
