Mill End Hotel

We received a very warm welcome and all staff were friendly, attentive, efficient and professional. All meals were excellent and our room (Yealm) with direct access to the beautiful grounds, was very comfortable. We didn’t take the car out once and found this hotel an ideal location to relax and walk by the river and to The Chagford Inn for a snack! The hotel was very dog friendly and The in a quiet, but accessible location close to the amazing river fed Lido in Chagford. We very much look forward to our next visit!

Mill End Hotel is a real gem, nestled on the banks of the River Teign in a truly picturesque setting. We stayed in the Dart room, which had a private terrace with a lovely countryside view. The room was beautifully equipped – sumptuous, yet cosy, with homemade biscuits as a thoughtful touch. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable, and the spacious bathroom added to the sense of luxury. The lounges were cosy and inviting, perfect for relaxing. Evening meals were a highlight – delicious dishes made with locally sourced ingredients, with imaginative and plentiful vegetarian options. The fish and meat dishes were beautifully presented and, I’m told, absolutely mouth-watering. Breakfast was just as impressive, with a wide range of choices to suit all tastes. Customer service was impeccable throughout our stay: friendly, helpful, and polished. We felt truly well looked after. We’ll definitely return and highly recommend Mill End Hotel to anyone looking for comfort, charm, and excellent hospitality in a beautiful location.

Lovely easy going place, super friendly service. We visited for a quintessentially English Afternoon Tea and it didn’t disappoint.

We met friends, who were staying at the hotel for a meal. I don’t often write reviews but the food was extraordinarily good. I could not fault it. Best meal we have enjoyed for a long time. It’s long drive for us but with food that good, we will be back. Very attentive service as well.

Two nights here, beautiful restaurant, exceptional food. Really recommend. Staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. We had dinner in the hotel both nights, different menu each evening everything we had was 5* and we're real foodies. Reasonably priced good wine list. Excellent breakfast with loads of choice, cooked to order. Very impressed. Luxurious full sized Espa toiletries in the room, and very comfy beds. Chagford a pleasant 20 min walk along a stream to an open air pool and sweet local village, with about 3 good pubs. Surrounding countryside is stunning, so just go!

Had a few nights midweek with our Labrador.we love Erme room access straight onto the garden by the river.facilities are excellent, shower cap nice Temple spa toiletries.Shower over bath. Mini fridge with fresh milk, nice homemade shortbread.Robes and slippers supplied.very comfortable huge bed.just very soft pillows but they found me a firm one.the staff are so lovely and helpful. Dinner menu was superb .breakfast has great choices and really delicious.My husband was successful in his flyfishing in the evenings so easy as the upper teign is right there.Great dog walks right next to the hotel by the river. Thanks team see you again .

Very nice small hotel in the heart of Dartmoor right on the river perfect for walking our dog. All the staff were very friendly & helpful and the food was excellent. We had a room which opened onto the garden which was brilliant

Given a gift voucher for afternoon tea , but one of us was unable to travel due to ill health so we weren’t able to enjoy our tea as we have done in the past in the garden. The hotel kindly agreed to pack up all of the excellent food for collection. It was ready when I arrived beautifully packed in several labelled boxes-it even contained disposable mugs and tea bags. We were very impressed by the excellent service and were able to enjoy it in our own home. Thank you.

We had seven glorious days at this gorgeous hotel and it was one of the nicest holidays we have had in the uk. The staff were exceptional in their helpful and professional service and nothing was too much trouble. The home made breads and crackers and labneh cheese each night before exceptional evening meals were a highlight. The chefs were so accommodating and food was just wonderful. Our room was clean and comfortable. The whole area was so peaceful and I enjoyed a swim in the nearby outdoor pool as well as beautiful walks to the village for coffee and shopping. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and we cannot wait to return

What a fabulous hotel!! We had a two day break with friends they were in the room Taw and we stayed in Yealm which had a lovely patio area which we were able to use. The staff were exceptional very helpful, friendly and professional. The food was amazing and the menu changed each day. We had a walk along the river and into Chagford ending up in the local pub. We had an enjoyable time in the gardens and felt very relaxed. I would definitely recommend staying at the Mill End Hotel.
