Silverstream Retreat

Such a great place to stay and our go-to when in the Wellington area. Easy to get on and off the motorway, and in a quiet and safe location not too far from Wellington ferries, or from train stations if heading to central wellington. I thoroughly recommend to anyone heading through.

This place in an old army hospital and NZ Police traininc centre. Not really a nice history for a place to stay at.

Our go to place to stay when in the Wellington area. Clean, quiet and safe with friendly staff, and easy access off and on to the motorway!

Super easy check in. Staff were wonderful, responsive, welcoming. The room was cosy, warm on our arrival, snd very clean. Beds very comfy. The wifi in our room was really spotty which was a challenge as I needed it for work during the days. It was much better in other parts of the property. Check that before choosing a room if good wifi is critical while you’re there.

Easy access to motorway, warm & clean rooms.

It was lovely. I didnt like that apartment 3 did not have a ramp for my walker to get up and down easier. I did not ike the old style heaters to be honest, it took a while for the room to heat up.

River view room was nice and very spacious. Neighbouring room which shared an entrance was there for another event and extremely noisy after midnight. Disappointing service and poor communication from the owner and staff. We got told there was a potacot available for our baby but when my wife checked in with a tired baby after a long morning and baby was ready for a sleep. She got told the cot didn't come with a mattress.... and we got offered a bunch of blankets instead (which is defentely not suitable for a baby to be sleeping on as it is a suffocation risk) we given a bunch of poor excuses why there was a mattress a available (i.e it got stolen, we got fined previously for having non regulation mattress. One of the other wedding guests had to made a 1.5hour round trip to get a mattress from a local friend and missed a big part of the wedding we were there for.

No air conditioning but lovely modern radiators made the room a lovely comfy temperature all night without the noise!
