Absolutely disgusting “retreat” rooms were filthy mattresses and pillows stained. Bed uncomfortable as hell!! Staff friendly but that’s about it would not recommend staying here at all!! Not made out to be what it is online, very misleading photos and information ❌❌❌ Over all was a poor 5 night family holiday for us all :(

This retreat is disgusting and filthy They have emergency housing living there which they need to be honest on line and state this We would definitely not of booked 3 units for our family holiday for 5 nights The beds are stained and worn out and ripped under blankets Pillows were stained and disgusting The toilet stunk of urine which we asked the house keepers to clean but they could not get rid of the smell The ice box was so frozen the fridge door would not close Carpet stains throughout Lots of spiders and cobwebs We booked room 1 ,2 and 3 Riverside apartments views and paid really good money They moved a homeless lady over to another room as we complained of her noise with lots people coming and going Manager told us he was evicting her but not true Would never recommend or stay here again It is run by a church

What a lovely place to stay Rooms are huge & well decorated. Kitchen is great as is the bathroom Loads of parking Quite a big area, i think it was an old Army hospital in the war. Only thing is, the wifi is crap. Couldn't do any reports that night

While this place is regularly used as a conference centre or for group bookings, we managed to secure one of their motel rooms for two nights. It was well placed between Upper Hutt and Wellington central and close getting on/off to the expressway. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfy and the wheelchair access was excellent from height of bed, to ease of opening entry door to wet area shower. There was no ramp to get out onto the verandah, but this was not of a concern to us as we did not spend a huge amount of time in the room. There was a large group of students/children at the Retreat at the same time, but they did not disturb us in any way, and the venue was peaceful and quiet overall. Definitely recommend, especially if you need a wheelchair accessible accommodation option.

This is the most fantastic place. I can not recommend it highly enough. We've had 4 nights here for our school camp with 34 kids. As a parent helper, expectations were not high! I was blown away. Everything was amazing. The accommodation in Rimu Court was comfortable, with plenty of modern shower rooms. The food was utterly brilliant with plenty of tasty, nutrious meals. The chef also catered beautifully for 4 special dietary requirements. The packed lunches were also brilliant. My only comment (not a complaint!) is that there was too much food and therefore a bit of waste. The grounds were great for games and activities. It was really easy to get I to Wellington each day for activities. Thank you.

Property was fine, booking procedures, and checking in so bad we were finally not charged by a remarkably understanding owner. His staff are simply not supporting him, such a waste of what could be a great place to stay. You cannot run accomodation with no staff any whereafter 5 pm. We had notified that we would be there before 7 due to flight time, assured someone would greet us, it took over an hour and knocking on many doors all over a very large resort to find the owner. Full credit to him he was charming and helpful in every way, large excellent accommodation.
