The location was good and staff friendly

The room was very dirty, lots of dust and marks on walls, the wooden floor didn't look like it had been cleaned properly and stains on the bath and sink.

Nice hotel in a nice location

The only gripe is that there was only one teabag for a morning cuppa

"Beautiful but tired."

Food was amazing.

Whole place could have done with a deep clean. It's looking tired.

"Delightful hotel on the historic Pantiles."

8.0

Pleasant staff. Room was of a substantial size. Bath and shower taps etc. etc. took some understanding but worked well once one had experimented a bit! The room (no.43) overlooked The Pantiles and was comfortable. Bed was sprung comfortably. Plenty of tea, and Nespresso coffee machine was a pleasant surprise. The hotel is in a delightful position on the Upper Walk of the Pantiles. Ten minutes pleasant walk from the railway station. Staff polite and helpful. This room is on an upper floor. Plenty of steps to surmount.

Nothing of note.

The location, staff were friendly and helpful, the only negative was the climb up the 68 stairs to my room, the hotel didn’t appear to be anywhere near full but me room was right on the top floor, which was the only negative

As above

"Awful Hotel"

1.0

I didn't like anything.

I was misgendered at Reception who didn't like being challenged. I was told that staff don't have any Diversity and Inclusion training and say what they think is polite. It isn't polite calling me female when I am not. I hadn't been told in advance to bring ID. The window was filthy. The phone was dusty. The bathroom shelf slopes down. There are no handles on the wardrobe. They have 5 hangers when Hotel regulations state 12 for a double room. They have dried limes in the bar which contain sulphites which are bad for asthmatics. They are too mean to provide herbal teas and biscuits. I definitely won't be back.

"Overall friendly staff and a good location."

8.0

Excellent location right in the heart of the prettiest part of town. An easy walk to local amenities and easy to reach with parking nearby. The room was comfortable if a little tired in the decor. Very comfortable bed.

There were small things that didn’t work and weren’t really compensated for , eg the Nespresso machine in the room wasn’t functioning because the hotel were using pods that weren’t compatible- the rationale was that they were recyclable. Coffee at the bar was £4.50 for a small cup and although I complained twice about the machine nothing was done. I felt that the food, especially breakfast was expensive and guests were treated the same as other visitors to the restaurant for breakfast pricing.

"Extortionately priced"

4.0

A lovely and historic venue, but extremely overpriced. Two coffees and two croissants came to a bill of £25! Despite being local, sadly we will not be returning.
