I had asked for a twin room, when we arrived to the room, there was a double room. They changed the beds while we had dinner but they kept the two beds side by side. We had to separate them ourselves (this is supposed to be a 5 star hotel by the way) When we arrived to the room for the first time the bottles of water in the room were open. Furthermore, Water was never replenished throughout our stay. After our first night, our room was not done. We had to go and ask them to do it after we came back at 16.45. The ski locker heating system was not on or malfunctioning which lead I to cold and wet boots for the next day. Breakfast always opened with 10 min delay. Guests were knocking at the breakfast room doors at 07.35 when it normally should have been open at 07.30. Things were not entirely ready by the time they were supposed to be, and the room was freezing. My colleague had to ask for a blanket... It was the opening so I understand that some details could not be as smooth as desired but this was too much to let it pass. Late check out ridiculously expensive (250 EUR for three hours extra). The temperature of the pool was cold. The The reception informed that they were going to pass on the information to management about all the issies I raised but No compensation or remedy offered by hotel staff after all the above, which was VERY disappointing (they could have offered the parking fees or the late check out but nothing; they offered nothing). They even asked for a tip, to which I of course said a big NO. I don't think they deserve the 5 stars. I would have still been dissatisfied if this was a 4 star hotel.

Beautiful installations, Nice room and excellent location

Unfortunatley the staff toute friendly not effective at all. Exemple I called 4 times to ask for some ice delivered to the room and after more than an hour I had to go to the bar personnaly. Little détails that matter were not respoected. Not a 5 star hotel standard.

Emplacement et personnel

Bel hôtel mais rien à voir avec un 5 étoiles. Chambres quelconques, pas de cigarettes en vente, piscine plus chaude que le jacuzzi. (Et elle n’était pas très chaude) Restaurants quelconques. MAIS ! Personnel vraiment très bien

We had a fantastic suite overlooking the slopes. The room was of a good size and styled well. Breakfast was good and the bar area and selection of drinks was very good. It is a spa hotel and this lets it down slightly. The spa is very basic and a bit dingy. The pool was also cold. Could do with a refurb in my opinion and this really would be a fabulous hotel. The ski hire was also 3 times the cost of other shops located 2 minutes away. I queried this and was told “it’s a five star hotel” by the staff. Although I get that when it comes to food/ drinks/ service. The skis were much the same as you can get anyway so didn’t warrant the unnecessary cost. I think it was over €100 per day for ski hire which is crazy. A little out the way for walking to the town but they offer a free (we always tipped the driver) service up to where ever you wish to go.

Fantastic skiing area, very family friendly, great food, excellent facilities, very high

Had an amazing stay at the altapura, read a few reviews a few days before we went and were worried, but it was great. Main complaints were about how hot the rooms were, which were understandable, but opening the window solved that. The other critique we read was about the restaurants and choice of food for half board. Breakfast was buffet and had a great selection. Dinner you get 65 euros contribution each evening towards food, which you can choose from the menu of the 3 different restaurants they have. European, Japanese and a cheese place. The food is all cooked fresh and to a great standard. The staff were really friendly and helpful, the hotel is in my opnion in the perfect location, ski in skin out, not far from several ski lifts, but not in thr centre of town so you don't get all the noise and footfall. Beds were really comfy, overall had a great experience and will be back next year!
