The Orchid Hotel Pune Hinjewadi

No In-room.service after 7pm even for basic required things. This was not informed while booking. The staff was not at all cooperative and had very rude behaviour with senior citizens. Restaurant did not have al-carta menu and they forced us to take up buffet only. Overall it was a pathetic experience. And we made a fatal mistake by selecting this hotel.

Our stay was very good

Nice and clean room and toilet. Room was quiet though hotel is close to a busy highway. Wonderful breakfast and service. Enjoyed a perfect stay.

Location could be a plus, however, the poor quality of training and courtesy of the staff , the long walks from the check in lobby to rooms and the poor up keep of the property are all negatives. Overall not a good experience.

Services not upto mark

The first time I entered the room, the toilet have the chewing gum left by previous guest. The entire room is run down, the path to the gym is smelly and uncomfortable. Breakfast choice is limited. Luckily, this hotel have a group of friendly staff.

Hotel is well located for us. Rooms damp but staff very helpful and friendly. Think rooms damp because of poor air conditioning which is very old.

This is among the unfortunate hotel stays I have had. 1) The entrance road to the hotel is completely damaged and I am surprised that a hotel that calls itself "5 star ecotel" has not got it repaired. 2) On entering, there was no one at the entrance to guide us where to park our car. 3) When we arrived to check in, the reception staff told us that there was no booking in my name. They had mixed up my last name with that of someone who shares my name. This led to a long wait. 4) It seems that there was a lot of inefficiency in the reception counters. The guest next to us was exasperated and was threatening to "call the corporator" [This was one thing that made us smile]. 5) Finally, after the confusion was cleared up, we were given our room number and left on our own. Now, the hotel is designed in a slightly confusing manner and we could not locate the section where our room was located. After a few minutes of walking around, we came back to reception and they finally had the courtesy to ask one of their staff to guide us. 6) In the room, we realised that the hotel was really noisy with poor sound proofing. There was a group of young people, probably out on a company tour, who were sitting together in the lobby and speaking loudly until late at night. If you need a hotel for a quiet and restful stay, I would recommend that you avoid Orchid. Holiday Inn, part of a respectable international chain of hotels, far more comfortable, is a few hundred metres away.
