Hotel Königshof Hamburg

It was nothing impressive, room was big, pillows were thin and not comfortable in my opinion, it was In a quiet area near the centre but the walls are not very good to keep noise away

Hotel reasonably priced, good basic breakfast. Awful area though and hotel down dingy sidestreet. Staff all friendly and helpful. One gripe - as a solo traveller I got a tiny duvet and one feeble pillow. Not comfortable!!

cleanliness, location to HBF breakfast stellar.

A small clean room with shared clean bathroom and a good adequate breakfast. Still a bit expensive for “sheared bathroom” option, but a reasonable option in an expensive city. The area near bahnhof is busy , but provides lots of options for eating.

Location was very close to city centre and the breakfast was great.

When we first arrived we were hopeful. Although the hotel says English friendly, we were barely getting by with what German I knew in conjunction with the English they knew. Then things got worse, the room was unavailable and they had to send me to the Novum across the street. For $160, our room was tiny and shower/toliet in hall which is shared with 4+rooms. The room was requested as non-smoking, but clearly reeked of cigarettes. Staff claimed that it was impossible and that he would not refund us our money (so we could go to another hotel) or even switch our rooms because we had "already used the bed" in the whole of 5 minutes we had been there. He called us liars and even after inspecting the room said thats not how the staff makes the bed...what? So we stayed because he wasn't giving our money back and no one spoke enough english. The language barrier would have been ok, if it did not claim to be english friendly. The staff was even testy with Germans. The area is trouble and not safe or friendly for women. Stay away from this area of Hamburg when visiting, definately stay away at night. Definately stay away from Novum hotels, at least these two. Research the hotel origins before staying at any.

Excellent room, we were also upgraded which was lovely. Excellent staff!

When we arrived from train station, the staff member was not very helpful and barely understood what we said. The hotel was not in a good area at all; we were not comfortable walking to it. The breakfast was ok but not great by any means. The beds were ok. The wifi worked but their house computer was not working right and the staff didn't know how to fix it.

Nice little quiet hotel nothing spectacular but comfortable plaze 2 mins away got quite busy at night with homeless people but no trouble or noise from them good for a night or two

The room pictures on the website are not an accurate portrayal of the rooms and the shared bathroom situation wasn't mentioned.
