Such a beautiful country house hotel in a stunning setting. Wonderful spa area, lots of great walks, brilliant friendly service. Only small gripe is soundproofing of rooms not great but it’s an old building and everything else was excellent.

"Fabulous night away"

Fabulous hotel in amazing grounds. Beautiful building! We stayed for one night and our room was in the spa building. We didn’t use the spa. Our room was spacious and clean, however the carpets up the stairs and leading to the bedrooms were in desperate need of hoovering. We had a g and t in the bar before dinner and the setting was lovely, the great hall is stunning! Dinner was pricey but delicious, we had scallops to start and venison for our main. Breakfast was very good but the service was not so good(ie I had just finished my last mouthful and the young waitress was ready to remove my plate) I guess more training is needed. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and will return to enjoy all the facilities and the glorious grounds.

.Historical building. Food in the bar was good. Service was good. The grand Hall is beautiful. I like the gym but not my partner. Swimming pool is cold..... steam room was out , Sauna is tiny. Satisfied with breakfast in such a beautiful place. A short walk to a small church. Service is professional. Down side was. Slippers need GBP 3 per pair ! lucky I have my own.
