"A beautiful place with excellent staff and real ambience."

We had a lovely dinner (the Eton Mess was to die for) and breakfast was very good as well. The staff were just lovely, friendly and obliging. The grounds were stunning. Our room was spacious and welcoming.

We liked it all.

"Charming but not cheap."

Spacious rooms. Old world charm. Extensive grounds. Ample parking space. Comfortable lounge area. Lovely quiet countryside and villages.

No fridge in the room. Meagre supply of teabags. Only one beer available and limited wines Looking a bit tired since my last visit.

Good location, comfortable, clean and good morning breakfast.

We had a small issue where we were told we had only paid for one breakfast as the rooms had been booked as single occupiers which contradicted the booking.com reservation details.

"I would come back - bet looks lovely in winter especially around Christmas with decs and lights."

Loved the location - although not a planned stop - was walking Peddars Way and needed a bed for the night.

Heating on in the dinning room when it was 75 + already. Was said because of hot water system and being an old house - maybe sit guests away from the radiators in height of a heat wave! Not the hotels fault - other guests snoring was disturbing my sleep.

Very quiet and dark .. countryside setting and view from bedroom overlooking garden and fields was lovely. Nice breakfast

Very scruffy entrance to Hotel and car park .. felt like the back where we shouldn’t have seen! Decor was tired and not suited to the property.
