Good location for what we were doing in the area. Decent size room and ensuite, but ceiling does slope down. Nice to have two chairs to sit in rather than having to sit on the bed in the room. Cooked breakfast was good. Staff were friendly. Bed was comfortable. We really appreciated the biscuits left with the tea facilities in room.

The TV needed an account for log in for netflix or other satellite stations, Thought that was included. We asked lady at bar on our way out to dinner but she didn't know and was going to check for us - we never heard any more so not sure what deal is on this. The weather was cold so would have been nice to have heating on in ensuite, shower is very tiny.

Location was lovely with ample parking. Room was lovely with the bed and linen really comfy.

Shower door broken so made it difficult to shower with water everywhere. The real downside for me was that breakfast was not available untill 9am. I was given a container that was supposed to be a continental but id beg to differ. Shame as it could of been easily rectified.

A lovely pub, the food was delicious the beer was great, and their own brew. The girl serving behind the bar was so quick and efficient.

The village is very nice.

Booked this for my birthday as nice getaway, ended up leaving before staying the night. When I arrived, the room was cold and unwelcoming. The bedding and sheets were very cheap and low quality (thin duvet and static central), and the lighting was extremely dim, which made the room feel quite dingy overall. The mattress was in particularly poor condition and clearly very old (could hear and feel the springs), as was much of the furniture and décor. I also noticed dust and hairs on the lampshades and bed frame, along with marks on the walls. The bathroom was another issue — it looked very dated and run down, and not to a standard I would consider acceptable. On top of this, other guests were using baby gates instead of closing doors nearby, which meant we could clearly hear noise from children, adding further to the discomfort. Because of all of this, I decided not to stay (despite paying in advance). I did inform the staff at the time that I wanted to leave and mentioned the mattress as the main issue. While they acknowledged my concerns, there was no attempt to resolve the situation or offer an alternative. They also did not offer compensation or a refund, despite my request. They also implied that as a family hotel, guests using baby gates instead of doors was not concerning to them.

Breakfast very good, and no complaints at all. Comfortable bed, and room not too warm. Nice to have a fridge in the room too.

No toiletries in the room. I always carry my own, but most business travellers don’t. WiFi really poor, and 4G no better, so impossible to get any work done. Nowhere to hang clothes, save for two coat hangers hooked over the ironing board. Not really a problem for me, but my wife would have a meltdown. Just need to get some hooks fixed to the bedroom door and provide half a dozen coat hangers.

Very friendly staff, excellent food, really lovely suite, great bath and a lovely village.

There’s a bit of an issue with the sash windows.
