Keep doing a good job

Not sure how this place has 3 stars! It's an awful place, the staff are rude the place is dirty and stinks which they try to cover up with loads air freshener. We sat waiting for checkin whilst being told they don't have the room numbers yet like that was meant to mean something to me. We finally got checked in after 30 minutes and were sent to the wrong floor. We followed the signs looking for our room only for us yo find the signs were wrong and our room was on another floor. The carpets remind me of a nightclub which has suffered drinks being spilt on it for years. The building is falling apart, which they've tried to cover up by screwing random pieces of wood over, the plugs in our room were hanging off and we had our kids with us in the room. The duvet and pillows on all 3 beds (family room) were covered in yellow stains. The room had water damage on 1 wall with mould. The bathroom floor was tiled but the tiles were all cracked and would move as you walked over them, the grout was missing. The taps were plumbed in wrong so cold was hot.. The entire place stunk of cannabis. The answer to any question was no, or they didn't understand. (First language issue). The room was really hot so we had to have the window open, but we were kept awake all night by the traffic passing and people partying. There were abandoned drinks and takeout food all over the place which again is really bad when you have young children. We spent most of our time in the hotel looking for another hotel or thinking of ways to go home.

Our small family stayed at this hovel of a hotel for one night and from the booking page photos we thought it was going to be nice for the money paid. Oh, how wrong we were! We had to wait half an hour after the check in time to get into the room as it was being “cleaned”, there was a constant smell of cannabis in the hallways, the staff were rude and unprofessional and as you can see from the pictures the room was really run down and quite dangerous for kids to stay in. Safe to say we will not be staying here again and I suggest you don’t either.

Wonderful place and near shops

Service was good but room was dirty hole in bathroom door carpet was so dirty and stained walls had dirty marks on bit disappointed

Stayed for one night based on pictures, hotel is nothing like that, really run down and needs a refurbishment. Booked a family room, not enough cup for tea, on floor boards creaked, bedsheets not clean, had dust and tv signal weak so couldn't watch normal tv. Beds were very soft.

We stayed at The collection hotel on the 07/05/22. We were there for a boxing match next door. I didn't read the reviews when I booked it. The day of the stay I looked at the reviews on here and I was mortified. I thought what sort of place am I going to stay in. I got myself worked up and didn't want to go. However, on arrival the reception team were very friendly. Fast check in. We went to our room and I opened the door not knowing what awaited me after the reviews on here. But I was pleasantly suprised the room was clean, tidy and didn't smell. The bathroom was tidy an fresh. Yes ok there was a few marks on one of the walls. But that didn't effect my stay We had a lovely night and a great sleep in the king room. I wanted to leave a good review because I think some of them on here are totally unfair. If you want the ritz then pay for the ritz it was cheap an cheerful hotel. Very accommodating and not at all what some of these reviews have said!
