Collection Hotel Birmingham

Comfortable room, shower was dripping all night and couldn't have a shower in the morning as not enough pressure to get water hot. Reception was modern but rooms and hallways dated and in bad need of decoration.

The reviews I had read weren’t very positive, but we had a great stay at this hotel, we had come to Birmingham for a concert and this hotel was perfect for our needs, the rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff were really friendly. It was a great price too.

Positives were nice towels, hot water, nothing else I can really add Negatives were that it smelt on entry to room, heating didn’t work so we’re given the one the receptionist had behind their desk to keep them warm, dirty marks on bathroom floor and walls, toilet seat was broken, the bed had broken and had hardboard screwed over the base as a repair, side tables were missing, trim off the desk was gone so looked scruffy, only 1 cup left in the cupboard for tea for 2 people, sheets had black stains that looked like ink on them. Advised receptionist who said the whole hotel is like it and couldn’t do anything as we paid online. If I hadn’t already paid we would have gone somewhere else

Hotel is completely run down and it smells so badly of smoke, damp things, unclean carpets etc It’s unkept, unclean, lights don’t work properly, shower and bath water doesn’t run properly. The lift is filthy as are the walls. The website paints a lovely photo but it’s actually awful

Receptionists very rude and no grasp of customer service, made me wait 10 mins while they just chatted together, then kept interuping my checking in to serve other customers meaning it took 30 mins to get the room key. Stayed here a few years ago and thought it was ok, now it is very dated. Full size fridge and microwave in the room with the tv hung at a wonky angle which gave the impression they were taking afgan refugees or dss on a regular basis. The other residents were very noisy running up and down the hallways for most of th night. Plaster in the bathroom was mainly in the bath with mould everywher. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!

Do not stay at this Hotel! We arrived at 5pm the receptionist was off hand, the floor in reception was visibly dirty. Walking to our room we saw several piles of dirty linen on the floor in the corridor, the door to our room was open and when we walked in the carpet was sticky and the room smelled of urine! We turned around and walked out. There was no point in complaining the room was non refundable and to be honest I couldn’t imagine a room in that hotel I would want to stay in!

The hotel needs renovations.

This hotel was terrible it smelt so bad and there was no staff to escort you to your room when trying to find our room it smelt like cigarettes and there were holes in the walls the doors were damaged we didnt even end up staying we left after seeing the state of the room and had to book another hotel would not recommended
