Position, character and friendliness of this property are its strengths. Ideal base for walkers .

Staff at this hotel very nice, friendly polite and helpful. Just had a great relaxing break here although weather could have been better.

The staff at the Patterdale are absolutely superb, extremely polite, full of local knowledge and go that little bit further to make your stay the best. Food is excellent, amenities are excellent. Only slight downside is some of the hotel is a little dated in areas. This would not put me off going again at all.

Beautiful scenery ,friendliness and efficiency of staff

We were very pleased with the hotel, it exceeded our expectations; the only small negative comment we would make is the live music and singing event in the bar on Thursday evening would have been very enjoyable if it wasn't so loud. The decibel level, for us, was bordering on painful and totally killed any chance of conversation.

The veiw from our room was fantastic . Room itself disappointing could even follow peoples conversation in next rooms. Noisey with people at night returning to there rooms. Beds comfortable. Bathroom toilet seat kept slipping off toilet bowl had to hold on.( did report this on arrival but not fixed..Over all very clean. Restaurant very nice breakfasts but evening meal needs a lot of improvement.

A good location for walkers and we found that the hotel catered for all of our needs. Food was good and plentiful, pleasant bar and good car parking and outside sitting area.

Does what it says on the tin. A slightly jaded hotel which you warm to. Staff efficient and friendly. Room clean. Great location for Place Fell walk. However: Rather a small room for the price. Think we could have done better looking for a local B&B. We had a bar meal the first evening which was ok but not great quality/presentation. Clientele probably average age 60. Sat night bar entertainment was a tribute band.
