Patterdale Hotel

The hotel is a little dated, but I would not change anything. It is reasonably priced with a good breakfast. Staff were efficient and considerate.

This is our second visit to The Patterdale and it won’t be our last. The hotel staff are all very friendly and efficient. We stayed on a half board deal and I have to say the food is absolutely fabulous with plenty of options to choose from. The buffet breakfast is also top notch using good quality ingredients. The bar is reasonably priced with a nice selection of beers and entertainment is put on a few nights a week..... Will definitely be staying there again....

Did not know about the area,or hotels , first time in the Lake District. It turned out to be a good choice,

Everything was as expectedexceptthe mattress was too soft!

Very good all round, as a party of 4 adult males we were treat with courtesy and efficient, friendly service at all times, especially when dining and at ya breakfast-the staff were motivated, impeccable and attentive. Meals were excellent, rooms spacious and comfy, great value for money by any standards. All age groups were staying during our time and all appeared very happy- as were we! Well done to the Patterdale Hotel for making our stay a 10/10

Great staff, great food with a good choices and hot. Accomodated request with no issues for a plain steak, . The only negative was the bathroons need refurnishing and room small but we did not stay long on the room it was clean. Great location to visit other places and walking.

A fantastic location. Really nice sized room (131), which was clean and comfortable. Staff incredible; friendly, helpful and professional. Bar prices were very reasonable and they had a good live act on. Breakfast was reasonably good. However, the restaurant, for evening meals, is just bizarre. Ten pounds for a three course meal for two people? (There’s no other menu) It seemed far too good to be true and it was. The food was inedible and we weren’t the only ones saying it. Why not have at least an alternate menu? The tables are so packed together that it’s actually rude to not chat to the people next to you, as it’s impossible to have a private conversation. Why not reconfigure the room layout? It’s an extra ten pounds surcharge for a ‘lake view’ room, which we paid only to discover that there is actually no view of any lake. Is that some sort of joke? I asked at reception and I was told it meant that our room was facing towards a lake! Haha, if that’s the case then every hotel could claim that. Overall, it’s reasonably good value for money the restaurant experience has put us off returning. A real shame.

Stunning views from the hotel more than make up for unorthodox service. When I went to the restaurant for my evening meal I was 5-10 minutes EARLY for my table, however they seemed to have a lot of spare tables that a party of one could use. I was welcomed by a waiter and explained I was early. He took a rather large sigh, made a point of checking his watch and told me to wait until he prep'd a table. Once I was sat I started to look at the menu and a very polite lady asked me what I would like to order. She took the order and disappeared before I could order any drinks. I got another waiters notice for a drink but he told me he couldn't take my order and someone else will be coming to do that. My food shot out of the kitchen so fast I had hardly buttered my bread roll. I was half way through my main when I was finally able to order a drink. Food was nice but clearly prepared buffet style... which wasn't a problem as it was involved in the room price. Wifi was terrible but to be expected for area.
